I got roped into helping at a SXSW event last night, due to the usual "hey I heard you have a truck" reasons.
When I arrived at the downtown location, FSD took one look down the alley to the loading dock and said "lol no". It was lined left and right with service trucks and delivery vehicles. I manually threaded the needle with inches to spare. The 4WS was a godsend.
At departure later in the evening, all the other vehicles were gone, so I gave FSD the chance to extract itself from this dead-end alley. It backed almost all the way out, but then decided that a u-turn was required, but couldn't manage it.
Even after I took over, the maneuver was basically a 100-point turn lol.
Had to do an 8-point turn to escape from the curb lane at the airport. Intelligent design is sorely lacking in that setup. Was happy to have 4-wheel steering.
