Does this gap perhaps indicate a spot for a tyre ?

To my eye, the space looks to be more than what is needed in this original photo :

I see you didn't bother to run your red line on the bottom of the truck on the passengers side. Is that because you noticed something funny?
Uhhh I did this in 2 minutes while on the toilet - sorry to burst your bubble

Taking a step back. There was never a promise of a mid-gate. There was never a promise of a pass through either, though one was mentioned in a tweet.

I mention to temper expectation with reality. However, if we repeat a mid-gate will be present and the price will decrease, we can collectively create reality out of fiction.

I just want what I ordered. Not 4 motors, not 4 wheel steering. Not 600 mile range. Not a mid gate. Not 10 minute charging. I could go on and on.
All of these “improvements” are just an excuse to keep dragging out the production/delivery dates and give a reason to charge a lot more that what I agreed to pay when I reserved my CT.

All of the previous pictures of the exoskeleton make me think this is just a jig for aligning the outside dimensions of what the folded SS will entail. If that is close to being true, then we can't really infer much at all besides the exterior contours of the exoskeleton from this picture. If *that* is true, then we also cannot infer anything about the midgate/sail pillar storage. This is just conjecture on my part, I'm probably way off on this one ;)

So much for the idea there will be “No paint”

It almost looks like 2 gigacastings in the rear one on each side. A lot different from what I expected and very much nixes the sail pillar storage.
The powdercoating is different than painting the exterior of a vehicle. I wouldn't expect zero paint on any vehicle.

Agreed, the paint definitely will protect from any potential corrosion or rust. I'm all for that!

The wheel well on this side makes no sense and is very different than the one on the other side.
Passenger side casting is way higher than driver's side casting.
Also if these are castings why is the casting machine arriving today.
There must be a limited number of castings that were made before the casting machines were dismantled to be shipped to Austin.

The problem is that it's going to look awful if that is painted.

If you look at the renderings it never seemed cavernous. It's still possible but I have doubts it will be there in the production version, unfortunately.

Great illustration, I think you have the rear wheel well and the tailgate too high though.
Yeah, it looks like the rendering needs to be rotated 2 degrees clockwise. If you look at the A-pillar by the windshield hole, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Until the battery supply and factory are ready, it doesn't matter what fiddling they do behind the scenes.

IDRA have said they don't do that.
