I think you need relatively unpolluted air to use a water generator as a potable water source because such a process will also concentrate many airborne toxins. Don't try this downwind of an oil refinery!

I guess it depends upon what your definition of "pure" is and how polluted the input air is. But the real issue is the very low efficiency. It sounds like in most polluted air situations you would be fine.
