I ordered my CT in August 2021. I decided to order it because I was not satisfied with the range of my Model 3 I bought March 2021. I ordered dual CT but I will change it to tri when we are allowed to make changes to the order.
I was placed on the waitlist Nov 22,2019 (second day?)I believe if you use the formula at one of the order threads your placement is commingled with all Tesla orders. So I would not place much weight on the numbers. I believe it listed me at 140k lol. Maybe someone else on this site can chime in or wait till August when more info comes out.

I'm talking about mainstream and industry media narrative, they'll go to town on the towing range. They did for the Lightning and they'll turn it up to 11 for the Cybertruck, that's guaranteed. Couple that with the fact it's going to be releasing in the winter and that's a double whammy.
The mainstream media is already and has from day 1 been super critical of the Cybertruck.

They will eviscerate the Cybertruck regardless of whether it is amazing or not. Mainstream Media persisted in suggesting the Bolt was as good as the Model 3 for years after launch even though it was clearly the inferior product.

Assuming pricing isn’t too crazy, Tesla has over 2 years of orders on the books to change that narrative. Getting 250k trucks on the road will change the narrative regardless of what MSM wants to chime in about the Cybertruck.

When I bought the Model Y MSM was in love with the Mach E. It was more affordable and “tESlas HavE PAneL GAps”. MSM’s opinions had zero effect long term on the Model Y/ Mach E. They will similarly have zero effect on the Cybertruck.

Perhaps it's obvious, but if they were able to build even 1 Cybertruck, that means that:
  • They can make both front and rear castings
  • They have all the stamping dies
  • They have all the stainless bendy machines
  • They have all the unique parts from vendors (plastics, etc.)

LETS RAMP THIS THING
You gotta LOVE 'stainless bendy machines'. You can NEVER have too many!

The upper photo is taken at a much greater distance, with a longer lens.

The Petersen photo is taken from as close as it looks like it is with probably just a phone or whatever.

The front end is 99% the same, you just can't see as much of it in the lower pic because...lens.

Guess who got the first one?? :D:ROFLMAO:

I got the first one.jpg
As well as the face being obviously photoshopped in....

I am pretty sure if this guy is the first person to get a production CT, then he would know it is named "Cybertruck" not "Cyber Truck".

Come on man!

That video was edited by the worlds biggest Cybertruck fan. So it must be the new official spelling.

My only concern is whether the Tri-motor reservationists will have first choice on the QUAD motor version, if there is one.

Currently my RN puts me in the 38,000 priority range overall, but rises up into the low 8000's when the TRI-motor config is taken into account.

But what about the QUAD motor list?
I truly believe the "Pick a trim level" thing from Nov 2019 was essentially an internal poll to gauge interest. When your number gets called, you will be invited to order any option that is currently for sale. (If you clicked on "TriMotor" and they start with the dual motor, if you get your invite, you will get the option to order a Dual right away OR you can wait).
Since it was impossible to select "Quad Motor," I do not feel any subset of the reservation queue would get precedence for the Quad, if and when it is offered. Similarly, if the first 10 people on the list happened to select "Single Motor", and Tesla decides not to offer a single motor CT, I wouldn't expect those early reservationists to drop to the back of the line because they "chose wrong." This is consistent with how they treated reservations in the past.

An (initial) 350 mi range would be really embarrassing, especially with the Silverado base model having over a 450 mi range.
I expect a 350 mile CT to be able to achieve pretty close to 350mi in real world conditions. Does anyone have reason to believe that a first ever Chevy/GMC EV pickup will attain 450 miles just because their promotional materials say so? (I mean, I know GM is America's EV Leader, but C'mon, Man!)
