I have 3 early Cybertruck reservations so I have had nearly 4 years to come up with a strategy.
I got 2. Don't plan on flipping, one was supposed to be for my dad, but he is itching to get a new truck sooner than later. (I am trying to convince him to grab a lightning with the price drops otherwise he might end up with a .... ICE truck **vomit**). My plan is to keep what comes first and if its not the one I want, sell it when the one i want comes out.

if you can't have a CT (yet), it's the way to go

best F150 ever built
Yea, I would be making him by an XLT with the extended battery, but wait shows october. Everything out here has the standard range batt.

He is too impatient

yeah, LR are hard to come by, options on my truck no longer exist (e.g. load scales), etc.

which in my view is not at all to say Ford couldn't fight against these supply constraints given it's weight and scope

but instead that I view Ford to be putting only partial effort into printing Lightning's

Didn't read anyone others posts. But I think they've figured out shipping vehicles and have constant shipments everywhere. I think they could free for all by RN
This is certainly possible. For the Model Y launch, it wasn't region limited in the US when it launched, their were deliveries outside of California on day one from what my research shows. It was a very different launch then the Model 3, where they staggered out by region. But they had never done anything at that scale when Model 3 launched, so they didn't have a mature distribution network yet. Now they do.

I too reserved as quickly as I could, seconds after Elon said "And you can reserve one now" on reveal night and found myself with 2 reservations in the morning. I put in for a refund for the second one but now wish I hadn't. If the 350 mile initial release rumor is true, I'm trying to decide if I should delay my full-time RV life for an undetermined amount of time? or give the 350 mile one a chance to prove it can tow a travel trailer between SuperCharger stations in vacationland.

Had I kept both, I'd jump on the first batch with a fall back reservation if range takes the fun out of RVing. I'd hate to have to fall back to the back of the line just because I was so impatient and bought one that doesn't work for what I need. I retired July 1 so I'm champing at the bit to hit the road NOW!!!

Flip the early VIN’s for a nice profit and keep the 5th reservation.
Flipping vehicles
keep what comes first and if its not the one I want, sell it when the one i want comes out.
Flipping seems risky given Tesla's TOS:
Tesla's TOS

"Tesla and its affiliates sell cars directly to end-consumers, and we may unilaterally cancel any order that we believe has been made with a view toward resale of the Vehicle or that has otherwise been made in bad faith, and we'll keep your Order Fee, Order Deposit and Transportation Fee"

I'd prefer to explore viable options that don't put me on the Tesla blacklist!

Was just meant to alert people who mentioned flipping, nothing more.

The TOS are so vague that I'd even be nervous to sell it in good faith the first couple years. Would be nice if Tesla was more transparent about these things.

Have 4 and keeping them all. The income potential for robotaxi or wilderness camping excursions will be huge.

Place a second order now. Buy whatever they offer first. In 3 or 4 years when your second order fills, you’ll probably get all of your money back on the guest purchase because they’ll still be back ordered more than a year.

I won’t be landing on any blacklist no matter what I choose to do and I have more first day orders than anyone whose responded to the topic on this forum and acknowledged their cache publicly or to me in private.

whether the layperson acknowledges it or not, there are separate rules based on business history with the company.
I thought those were going to be fleet purchases. With the possible 5 seat configuration and smaller size I thought you were no longer considering them for your business.

They are not going to be used for the fleet thats accurate, though it was the intention when i paid people to hang out doing clicks at the reveal. I’m Simply making a point.
being blacklisted is not some hard and fast rule that applies to everyone or every situation.
Bath faith good faith.
turo’d once/used in a photoshoot once etc.

If tesla doesn’t want anyone to make money off these but them, they better crank em out like they do model Ys. The reality is though, they don’t mind at all. Its free advertising.

also before my DMs get hammered by activists, it should be obvious at this point that I hang around here because of geniune enthusiasm. I want the CT to do well and I very much want one for myself and my siblings and nephews to have them for safety reasons alone.

I am excited to organize and likely sponsor a moab run next year and hopefully annually thereafter
