If the size reduction resulted in the loss of the 6th seat, driver's display, and the 6.5 x 5 bed then to me it wasn't worth it.

I'm sure CT will be great (especially compared to the competition) but it my eyes it kind of turned into a stainless steel Model Y - which is not what I wanted at all. Come delivery time, I hope I'm proven wrong and pleasantly surprised.

It never had a drivers display, only one prototype testing might have. The "X5 part of the bed only became smaller because of the 4 wheel steering, probably worth it. The 6'6" bed is probably 6'2" now, i'm cool with that for easier parking. 6th seat? I still want that. And it's still possible, and might be an option.

I formerly lived in an HOA community that prohibited overnight parking on the street or in your own driveway. Garage or bust!

Fortunately I did not live there long.

In SF a standard parking space is 20ft long...regardless it's going to be a tight fit there or in a garage. I think the garage idea was more for charging convenience vs running a cable underneath the garage door to charge the beast.

It seems like it is dropped as low as it can go. I would assume to facilitate his kids getting in and out.

The Tacoma and the Chevy Colorado double cab long beds are both 4 doors with 6'+ beds and are under 19' long..... If they're gonna come up with a weirdly specific flex they should probably do some research...
I wonder if they were specifically talking about BEV trucks.

Can someone explain why parking your truck in your garage at home is bad?

Seems like a case of the Pickup Truck Sheriff trying to make sure folks are pickup truckin' the "right way". For me, the cons of a shorter truck would be encountered every once and a while. But, the advantage of parking in my garage would be encountered daily.
Obviously anyone has the right to do whatever they want with their stuff. Generally, the idea of a truck is and always has been to have a vehicle that can do the heavy lifting and be a work horse and the thought of keeping it pretty in a garage doesn't really align with that. Again, to each their own. My initial point was that if Tesla is making design changes, "sacrifices", specifically so it can fit in a garage, I personally disagree with the direction they are taking the truck.

This line of thought really doesn't make any sense. Does a sedan need to be kept in a garage to make it better for driving to work? A minivan need a garage to make it better for taking the kids to school? A garage has absolutely nothing to do with how a vehicle is driven when in use.

I’m glad you’ve said it, as I’ve been unsure what to think of the comment

The double-cab long beds are also only 2” shy of 19’

Elon’s comments felt like an under-developed marketing quip that needed an additional qualifier to make only marketing sense. Like “… with a payload over [X]]” or some such

but your point still stands, and I’m surprised Musk isn’t getting dragged more for it

I will be using the Cybertruck for daily commuting. I will rarely use the bed for large items and will likely never tow anything, I’m good with the size reduction and hope it fits in my garage.

And here's the reality for the Pickup Truck Police:

Tesla Cybertruck So the Cybertruck fits in a garage (at under 19ft long)... But was the size reduction worth it for you? 1689862488795
