I missed that signal. We have seen several wraps on prototypes but what signal did Tesla send that it would provide or make any wraps available?
They talked about wanting to make lots of accessories for the truck, maybe a wrap is a kind of accessory?

I think that stretches the definition of accessory too far.

I would expect a wrap to be an order add-on or customization, and an accessory to be more like a rack or a winch.

Hey Gus,

Since you own a DeLorean, are "smudges" and fingerprints removed from the SS after a rainstorm? Or is the application of dish soap or other cleaner necessary?

Not excuse in the slightest.
We have some folks complaining that it won’t work as a work truck - but a work truck is usually missing half its paint and covered in rust. The CT is significantly hardier than your standard work truck.
Then we have the faction that wants to treat the CT like a fancy truck where finger grease is unsightly.
Paint get finger prints too, but most people wipe them away and move on with their lives. What makes this even funnier is that we are looking at something that is a very long way from a customer and may have been through who knows what and folks are complaining about finger prints?
Its the same as complaining about all those Model Ys in the same parking lot that are filthy dirty.
Hilarious :ROFLMAO:

Would it be unacceptable on 'any other' pre-production release candidate? I wonder if I have ever seen another manufacturer's pre-production release candidate unwrapped with camo. Since there are no "new vehicle" Cybertrucks it is a hard issue to evaluate. My guess is as good as yours about a Cybertruck in a showroom - but my best guess would be that it would be sparkly and without fingerprints.

Rain is wet. Soap cleans better.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tesla offered or defaulted to having some sort of protective coating that keeps it clean looking like a painted surface.
Hans has said there is a specially formulated protective finish. It's not bare stainless, and therefore would need some recoating after a repair.

“Finish” refers to a process, not a coating.
