Fireworks, bomb, same same. This is a car bomb in the city and should not be minimized by the fact that it's fireworks on new years day. Whoever did this should be considered a terrorist and treated a such regardless of what their intentions might have been.

Car + Bomb = Terrorism.
This is not a car bomb. You don't have to make the same mistake sensationalist media are doing.

Intentional and stupid aren’t mutually exclusive.

You can’t be serious, right? A “serious risk” in the garage? So you think there’s less risk parking a tin can filled with 25 gallons of fuel in your garage?
Appreciated, I realize EVs cause less fire, and don't mean to fuel that narrative. It just looked scary on the video.

What? That's new info. I think that raises it to possible accident.

This isn't how fireworks go off. I don't believe it was intended to cause any real destruction. It looks like an anti-Trump/anti-Elon statement more than anything else to me.

I'm assuming it is a car bomb, you're assuming it isn't. One of us is wrong, but we're both assuming.

Maaaaybe someone filled their Cybertruck with fireworks, parked in front of Trump tower, and they suddenly and accidentally went off??? And didn't mean for it to be seen as a clear statement? Oops?

Setting off fireworks is setting off bombs. They can injure and kill people if used... like a weapon instead of for celebration.

New video:
The truck was closed so if it was intentional it was the driver or passenger of the vehicle that put the fireworks there. Just my guess based on the posted video clips.

The all other encompses the activity. Basically it is all the other shit they didn't think of. It is how they wrap anything like this into charges. If you don't like the ant walking across the street today and do something like this it you will be charged with terrorism.

So @Crissa you might need to learn a bit about how the government works when you do shit like this. It starts with a laundry list of charges. Terrorism will be one of them. No matter who or why they did it.

One doesn't have to threaten first to make it terrorism. It is the act. Are you serious with that crap?

Did you mean to say “guessing” when you said “assuming”? I am not seeing anything but guessing in this thread (including my comments).

Was very interesting in the contents looking like fireworks. Yet there are also home made items that can do that when assembled correctly. So guessing is correct right now. So is guessing that the timing and location look very strange.

Few things are very clear from the video -
1. It’s definitely fireworks or some explosion triggered with fireworks. You can clearly see fire crackers burning at the end.
2. The fire was not because of the battery explosion. In a different video, you can see the Battery underneath the truck intact. Only the upper part is burning.
3. None of the doors or glass exploded. Imagine the exact same thing happening on an ICE engine. This could have been fatal to someone standing nearby. This is a full-blown fire explosion. CT took the blast well.

Anyways, such a sad way to start the year. Hope authorities get to the bottom of this.

Video of explosion from truck bed.

This vid is absolutely wild. If you go from by frame you can see the explosion go under the truck first, then through the cabin, then the tonneau cover blows off.
Someone said the driver was still in the vehicle. There's also the ability to turn on the bed outlets remotely.
