HERE IS AN IMPORTANT QUESTION NEED EXPERIENCED TESLA BUYERS’ INPUT

To the uninitiated (eg me), I am left confused regarding whether these Foundation units come with FSD paid for.

I took the word of a few comments that “FSD Capable” is how Tesla “always” phrases it when FSD has been purchased.

But I’m back to dubious at best, looking more closely back at the order sheets for @CHC and @BayouCityBob

Note in particular it lists *both* “Base Autopilot” and “FSD Capable”

I *thought* that (Base) AP, Enhanced AP, and FSD were progressive stages of self-driving, that where a more advanced stage like FSD would preclude (or make redundant) listing Base Autopilot. Otherwise, why not also list “Enhanced Autopilot”

Until someone can explain exactly how Tesla always makes it this unclear, and to the outcome of FAD being fully paid for and included but the order sheet says merely “FSD Capable,” I’m left dubious and confused

and frustrated on behalf of the members here who have gotten Foundations in part on the assumption that the price included paid-up FSD
They cannot say that it “includes FSD” when that feature is not yet CT-ready. I would want to see “Includes FSD when available”.

I’m RN11275 and in California. Have not received anything. Which means then they aren’t going my RN numbers since you got yours? What am I missing?
The other people are cool celebrities?? No offense I don't know you.

The poster says the no re-sale clause was deleted, not added, for the Foundation Series:
I wasn't aware of the new clause when I posted my reply. I thought they scraped it completely.

agree, 100%

Any version that makes it clear you don’t have to pay for FSD after you pay for the Foundation unit

listing “FSD Capable - included” next to “Base Autopilot - included” is clearly not clear

I am around #50,000 and live in Reno, NV. I received the offer last night at 730 PM PST.
So, by ordering the Foundation Series, I will no longer be eligible for the federal tax credit? I also wonder if I don't order the Foundation Series if I lose my spot in line for the Dual Motor. Funny that the price is twice what my order was estimated to cost when I originally reserved in 2019.
My understanding of the federal tax credit is it is based on the MSRP of the vehicle and all PHYSICALLY ATTACHED options and accessories at delivery. It is very possible that a dual motor foundation truck is still eligible. Tesla lists them as two separate line items on the order and nothing in the foundation package has to be physically attached on delivery. We really need to get Tesla to answer this question.

Spoke to Tesla Sales and they verified that FSD is in fact included with the Foundation Series. I asked them to make a note of it on my account and suggested they clarify the verbiage online given the confusion.

I believe mine was 6.65%. Makes me sad when I think I got my Y 2 years ago for like 2% :(
That's actually really good. I'd be amazed if a CU could do better with the currect 8.5% prime rate.

I was not going to order my foundation series over this but if this qualifies for the tax credit I’m in. Anyone know how to verify for sure if it does or doesn’t?

How much time is Tesla giving folks to respond to the Foundation Series offer?

Just got mine too. I’m not paying that foundation premium though.

Edit* 22 minutes later our second reservation popped under our other account.

I’m not following this discussion I guess

I don’t understand any interpretation of the Foundation pricing or the credit that would cause someone to think the Foundation AWD at $100K would qualify

the base MSRP is $10 under the limit

A single $11 accessory would bust the limit

Take for example the Foundation’s premium wheels and AT tires, which are not included in the base $79K MSRP.

Meanwhile, the price for a special edition *is* included in MSRP, because all these things are included at delivery (special badging, special interior colors, etc.).

Even if there are things one might argue shouldn’t be in MSRP (eg paid up connectivity), what *is* included in Foundation that *is* attached at delivery is >$11

Finally, note that the order pages do not factor in possible federal savings calc - which if they thought might be ever possible, they would include.

I was not going to order my foundation series over this but if this qualifies for the tax credit I’m in. Anyone know how to verify for sure if it does or doesn’t?
First things first, your tax professional

Second things second, you can go check the IRS website for the then-current list of vehicles that are capable of ever qualifying. I don’t think the CT has been added yet. But I haven’t looked in a while Infer fro that what you will.

That said, the date of relevance is the vehicle’s in service date, which generally speaking is the date the customer takes delivery.

Regardless, for reasons noted up above, I don’t understand how one could have any interpretation that a car with an MSRP (that’s what we’re looking at here) of >$90K wouldn’t bust the cap.

Think of it like this: you’re ordering a Raptor, not an F150

You don’t get to ignore the MSRP of the Raptor group of upgrades and badging, etc., and claim the MSRP of an F150
