Got the order invitation email / Hard choice

Reserved within the first few minutes. I have a founders edition M3. Would love to buy a Foundation CT. Well over 100k with tax, license etc. I just can't justify it. I really needed more towing capacity but the 100k+ is the real issue. It's been an exciting 4 years being glued to this forum, reading as much as possible, seeing all the leaked photos etc. etc.... As some others has said, perhaps the price will come down in the future.

congrats man! Happy for ya! If you don't follow thru with it does your reservation go to the next guy or are you permitted to resell?

You can not resell. I will just keep my reservation open until they come down in price. They will keep sending out emails until all the Foundation Series are sold then open it up for regular trucks

My thoughts are the extra 20k is not worth it from a financial standpoint. 5 years from now no one is going to give you an extra 20k for your used Foundation Series. In fact I'd be surprised if it being a Foundation warrants any extra value on the used market. I have never paid sticker for a vehicle and certainly was not about to pay over sticker during the covid madness even though I normally would have traded about that time. Patience can save you a lot of money. I have an order in and may get it some time in 24 or maybe in 25 depending on how fast they can crank them out. I've never been in love with any object enough to pay more than it's worth. Who knows by the time they get around to building me one the price may have dropped. Win Win.

I don't think the Foundation Series is $20k more because you are forgetting it comes with FSD (worth somewhere between 7 to 12k, depending on FSD price at the time of reservation) plus you get the equipment to connect with your house (no idea of how much this will cost, but Ford costs to do the same run somewhere around 9k installed) and with this offer you also get $4k towards installation. So with those 2 items and using 9k for house connection you are getting somewhere around $16 - $21k of things beyond just the truck. I don't know if the AWD will qualify for the IRA $7.5k, and it won't behave as a discount until Jan 1 2024.
While I originally requested tri-motor & FSD $7k version, that was primarily for the 500 miles offered. The updated price makes that a much more difficult decision, so I am anticipating a revision in my wants. I also don't know the impact of the price differential for insurance between the two variants. Two remaining questions are how much build quality will increase as the ramp does, and how much the more road going tires will save. I won't ever need the tires that are available at this point in time.
I got my email on Dec 4, but am waiting for the reasons stated above. I don't think putting the range extender in the bed will work for me either as I won't be able to close the tonneau when carrying my motorcycle or e-mountain bike. Before replying to me ridiculing the idea of closing the tonneau with a bike in the back, my bike is an electric trials bike and it looks like it will fit when lying at an angle, even with the shorter than 6.5 ft bed (6 ft minus the bump at the front?).
So still waiting, albeit somewhat impatiently. "Somewhat" because I passed up the FS opportunity.

FSD isn’t worth $3 so I could care less about that. For me I would be paying more to get it sooner. That’s it. Do I want it that bad? Not really. And if you wait they will fix the problems they find with the first batch.
