Just got mine this evening as well. My heart is telling me to RKO that order button... but my gut is telling me to wait.

It would be foolish of me to add $27,000 to the cost of the truck just to get it a few months ahead of [mystery timeframe]. If Tesla is dragging out the Foundation Series to more than 1,000, that would be very disappointing and off-putting. Especially if my place in line is slammed back to the end of 2024 or worse.

I am a minute 1 reservation holder (RN1127596XX).
Looks like WAY more than 1,000. Looks like up to 20,000

I got the invite email earlier tonight and was able to get to the $1k "Order With Card" button. However, after thinking through it all I chose not to get the Foundation Series truck and will wait for my reservation to allow me to choose to order the standard $100k Cyberbeast without the extra stuff they want for another $20k. I do want some of it, just not all of that stuff. Hell, I'm already trying to wrestle my frustration of the ~50% price increase so I don't need to make it any worse.

If it helps folks in trying to figure out Tesla's madness on how they're sending out these invites:
  • my reservation (RN112777xxx) was made during the announcement back in 2019
  • I live in Cincinnati, OH
I can deal with waiting a bit longer since I already have a truck. What the order page revealed was helpful though: even if I ordered it tonight they estimate the Cyberbeast's "delivery mid-late 2024" so I have some idea of how long my standard Cyberbeast order could be when that happens. For those wanting the dual motor all-wheel-drive, it had a faster "est delivery Jan 2024 - Mar 2024".

The way I see it go with the AWD foundation since you get it a lot sooner. If you want beast better off waiting a little longer after that and save $20k IMO. At the moment I’m still figuring out in my head what I’m gonna do with my foundation invite. I wonder if the no re-sale clause will be foundation series only or normal CT as well

I have received an invitation to configure my Cybertruck last week. I am trying to decide which one to order. I do not need the Beast I do not care for the acceleration or top speed. I rather have higher range. This means AWD makes more sense plus delivery of the dual motor shows January 2024 vs July 2024 for the Beast. Also I heard that Dual motor has larger storage in the rear since it only has one motor vs two. But there are few important differences why I would consider the Beast. The Dual motor does not come with locking differential Tesla rep told me. can anyone confirm this? I could not find anything online. Beast has front locking differential two rear motors so it does not need it for the rear. Beast also comes with the offroad light bar and $4K credit for power share home backup. If dual motor had the locking differential I would chose it over the Beast,

So my guess would be......their plan is to send Foundation Series orders to the first 50,000 or so "reservation holders" and then randomly some in the top 200,000. Selling as many FS as they can, netting an extra $20k per vehicle.
Likely in response to seeing the selling of reservations at a premium.

The plus side is they make a bunch of extra revenue = good business
The bad is they take people who have 4 year old day 1 reservations and make them unhappy = bad business

Foundation series may end up being 50,000+ vehicles before they decide to start going through the peasants who reserved 4 years ago so they can order at a 60% price hike from 2019 and MAYBE get their CTs in 2029
It all makes total sense from business POV and yet I feel fucked!
I think they will sell far beyond 20k of Foundation Edition, there is no reason for Tesla to follow reservation "line". They might loosely follow it now but at some point the FE invite will go out to every single of 2M+ reservation holder. And only after people stop accepting FE offer Tesla might start regular $80k CT sales.
The main qn is - How many YOLOs out there interested in CT and ready to drop min $100k?

It was kinda ridiculous when Jay Leno promoted cybercamp as housing solution for being kicked out of house by wife for $120k CT "impulse buy". If $120k is impulse buy for you, your wife would not bother with it. It was a stretch joke, not funny at all.
