I have a reservation number around 11284xxxx. I read that Tesla will aim to sell around 20,000 Foundation Series CTs. If I can determine the acceptance rate I can probably get close on how many invites they will send out.

These "Founders Edition" numbers of 1,000, 20,000, etc are all just pulled out of someone's butt. Tesla will likely milk as many early adopters with their bait-and-switch Founders Edition for a year or two of production.

Pro-tip; the real price of the Cybertruck is AWD - $100K and Beast - $120K. Not $80K/$100K.
I read someone spoke with a sales rep and got the 20,000 number. And I agree with you on pricing for the foundation series

and when they start selling the Cybertruck at regular price, it would technically be a price drop lol

Yes, Tesla sales reps are the storehouse of all knowledge :)

while I understand this take, it’s sort of silly

it’s like saying the Lightning’s real price is $90K (Platinum), but buying the Lariat ER at $77K is a “price drop”

The Foundation is a separate trim level with different aesthetic/trim features, more items included, etc., for a higher price.

That’s called a trim level.

The difference is Tesla is only offering the Platinum first and for a relatively short period of time.

Just like they’ve done with about every other model they’ve offered, beginning with Founders and Signature series units.

Looks like an 80% take rate for those that got the invite from the limited data.

They will sell 20,000 and then another 20,000 and so on until the list of 2million reservations is tapped, then they will go through and offer them again, then figure out how to make them.

Looks like another wave of emails is going out this week, if it does will confirm that Tesla is trying to sell as many of these as possible.

That isn't bait and switch, if you want to use the term correctly.

Let’s see here… We have an unreliable number (1,000) that no one has verified, that someone CLAIMS they were told by a CS. Rep (the bastion on insider information) that the number has beeen changed to another unreliable number (20,000). Now, no one ever confirmed the 1,000 number, and not one has been able to confirm the 20,000 number, and the next logcal step from 1,000 isn’t 2,000, or 3,000, or 5,000, or even 10,000, but the next logical step is 20,000? And everyone at Tesla knows this, but so far only one single CS rep has let the cat out of the bag, but the rest have been able to keep their mouths shut. And we have NO reports of anyone at Tesla being fired, or let go, or has left the company to spend more time with their young family, or whatever? Are we THAT starved for information that we are willing to believe anything that anyone says? Don’t we have enough members on here with enough inside intel? If ANY of this were true, wouldn’t ONE of them step and say something? Nope, let’s once again run around like the sky is falling and bad mouth a company because “we know” what they are up to! We have almost 30 people on here in the que, wouldn’t they tell us If the company changed something like that?

Not exactly - the 1,000 number was reported by a few media sources that were under the Tesla cone of silence prior to Nov 30, then many others in the days following.

separately, for what it’s worth, I can also confirm that in the weeks before Nov 30 the plan was 1,000

but I can also confirm that in the ~week before the Nov 30 event the plan for 1,000 units max changed instead to a plan for a duration of time max

for the same reasons, anyone who thinks they know they plan today would be wise to not assume it’ll be the plan tomorrow

the real point is: whatever is Tesla’s ‘plan’ today, it’s likely to not be its last plan before they stop building Foundation units - so nobody should bank on the reliability info of even a reliable source, regarding how many FS will be built

Looks likely, from the Poll, that most of the first 50,000 folks, who reserved a Cybertruck, have been offered the opportunity to order a Foundation Series Cybertruck. What does that say about the take rate?
