In California you can buy and request to use a license wrap. Better aero and can’t be stolen.
They also print custom plates (if you already own the plate) like mine us HMMMMNN.

I once pointed out that maybe the rectangular area was intended for the number plate and could perhaps flip up to access the winch.

I still haven't seen a front number plate mounted. Only a few more sleeps lol

Lol I was emphasizing that it can still be stolen. Just harder. Not trying to correct Grammer

Welcome to Texas!
Definitely a mount location for the front license plate. I'm puzzled about people being puzzled about this...

Front plates and Texas.... Over the 17 years my 2007 Corvette has been driven around Texas without a front plate, I've only been stopped once for it. That was in a small town in west Texas, about six months after I bought the car. It turned out to just be an excuse to look at the car and to warn me not to try to check its claimed top speed.

As anyone can clearly see, there is no reasonable place to attach a front plate, and because I'm a reasonable person, I'm simply unable to put a front plate on that car.

In California, most will end up behind the windscreen.

I'm pro-front-plate, but that car is pretty narrow in the front.

I’m optimistic that some of the front aftermarket bumpers may offer a reciever hitch. I’d like to attach a grill and prep area for tailgating…fridge and TV inside the frunk.

Now just need some power up front!

Sooo, be meaning to ask…what’s behind the rectangular panel in the center of the CT front bumper. Could it be a receiver hitch mount? Would love to mount a winch to it or fancy SS gear box/BBQ/frunk fridge. Thoughts?
I have to say this question made me chuckle a bit. People who have lived their lives in places that don't require a front license plate must not register that other places do, which makes sense if it is not your experience so it is not on your radar.

That is 100% for sure for a front license plate.

While you can choose to leave it off in the states that require one, it gifts probable cause to the police to pull you over at any time they feel like it if you do leave it off, so as ugly as it is if you don't want the police to be able to target you on a whim then it is best to place one on your vehicle's front bumper.

Since manufacturers don't want to make a different bumper for different states, they do something that can be used in all states either way since that is simpler (in most cases).
