Wow! I had a '73 Chevy Nova.

I think the secret to keeping it from rusting was all the stamped steel seemed to have voids which happily filled with oil x-x

It's kinda interesting that the bumpers shared that mostly-chrome but vertical stripes of plastic. That was only the one year, if I recall.

The rust has been kept at bay the old fashioned way...
It's been a "Garage Queen".
On the passenger's side, one piece of chrome trim came off in a car wash (mistake!), but I of course kept it for future re-install. One doen't see any obvious rust on that side.
As for the drivers side, you have to do more than just a cursury look to see the five VERY small spots of rust.
I Guestimate that it was left alone in the garage from the late 1980's to the late '00s.
That's when I pulled it out of the garage, changed the oil, belt(s) and battery (but not the coolant or hoses), then turned the key with the spark plugs disconnected, then reconnected, and VROOOOOM! That 454 (almost) started right up. (It did need to be cranked bit more.)
Since then I changed the tires and had an old experienced mechanic tune the carburator.
I bought the hoses, but the coolant and hoses still have not been changed.
It has a 30 gallon main tank and a 20 gallon Auxilliary tank.
Since I revived it, it averages 100 gallons per summer, then goes back into storage.
74084.8 miles on the odometer, again, less on the motor itself.
For sale soon after the Cybertruck is available for sale. (Duh!)
