After 4 years waiting i don't think I'd care. It's a shade likely easily altered by an aftermarket cleaner or gloss.

Now that the rain has stopped and the sun shining. I noticed the differences in vault cover slates. Seems like there are different batches… and it’s getting mixed and match during assembly. :(

I wonder if others CT owners are seeing the same. We gonna have to figure out how to remove or watch until Munroe does their tear down. Possibly swap with local CT owners to make the tonneau one cover. ?

Here is an example of mine:

Maybe it's a bar scanner code for your name.

Wow, so sorry to see that! Maybe because the production started fairly recently, they’re still working out tweaks in the methodology? But still that’s no excuse.

I dropped the CT off this morning for them to take care of the issue. I asked if they will be replacing just the affected slates or the whole Tonneau cover.
Now it’s the afternoon and the update is they are replacing the entire cover. And the tech is taking his time to ensure it’s all done right.

I mentioned I expected so because it would be most of the Tesla tech’s first time working on the CT. Fingers crossed they do an adequate job and don’t damage more stuff. Thats always a risk when taking your Tesla into service. Or any car if I think about it.
The Tonneau operated really smoothly thus far. Hopefully the replacement tonneau will operated as smoothly and look uniform.
The three CT I saw awaiting delivery at this Carlsbad service center all looks like it has uniform tonneau so I am hopeful.

This makes me wonder if the tonneau cover will fade over time in the sun. I know this obviously wasn't the cause of THIS, but definitely has me wondering.

The tonneau is metal even though it’s texture make it look plastic over metal. So I think the plastic on either side of it may fade first. If one doesn’t put trim dressing on it.

Proof positive that bots don't prep the trucks.

I did see that just a striker adjustment to the door is not recommended due to stress, and a different process of removing pins is necessary to adjust the door on structural battery packs. Did you get to see the process of them adjusting the door? Or was it in the back.

Ah, ok... I guess that makes sense. Thank you!

Update: I guess I didn't think about it long enough. I think those slats would have to be much thicker plastic to "hold up to 300 lbs".

It looks like annodized aluminum. Is it really powder coated?
It is tough to get powder coating to match doing them in different batches.
