It's time for Tesla to do the right thing for its Foundation owners and those of us been waiting 4 plus years, STOP the Foundation Series, those who paid the premium for the Foundation should be rewarded with a truly limited and rare CT, and those of us waiting 4.5 years and need to have a sub 80k option should be able to take delivery. The CT shown here in Sarasota is NOT a foundation series, so they are even making them already, just STOP and make the Foundation Series rare and let the rest of us experience the CT.

I’m just gonna go ahead here and be captain obvious. What you were asking for is what makes it better for the people waiting to purchase a non-foundation series. Not what’s better for a company whose sole existence is to make the most profit it can.

What Sarasota pic? I must have missed this can you share a link?

Yeah configured on 12/28/23 (no VIN) , , ,don’t care about being rewarded with a premium foundation series and would take the non foundation -20kk version instead.

Hey everyone, first post ever here so thank you for having me.

As a day 2 reservation holder, it’s been a very long 4.5 years. A few interesting sites offered delivery estimates based on RN and I was consistently told “October 2024” which would’ve made a great 40th birthday gift. Then I got the invite. $20k more than I wanted to spend. 7 months earlier than expected. Being told by a Tesla rep “this is your reservation. This is your spot in line” coupled with my excitement to finally be at this moment and I caved. No regrets but I could’ve waited until October or longer had it not been for the invite. Now I can’t help but check for a VIN every hour.

I absolutely agree with dropping the FS. To force those of us who immediately supported the CT to buy now and buy big is not a fun way to reward or celebrate finally making it to this point. Let us choose our options like anyone else would be able to a year from now. Sure, slap the FS badging on it but that’s it.

For Sarasota, was the truck wrapped? The one in Irvine, CA is wrapped and the badging is covered but it’s a FS.

FS is the only effective way for Tesla to recoup some of the loss on the production cost during the initial launch and ramp. Nothing personal, it’s just ‘smart’ business .

Once the production rate is up, Tesla will have no choice but to discontinue FS. Unfortunately, IMO they will probably only do FS for the entire 2024.

The silver lining is that by the time regular CTs roll out to the market, you can bet that they have taken care of all the issues like we saw and heard online nowadays (48V system mostly). Given the past record, Tesla might even throw one or two hardware upgrades too. Maybe a washer for rear camera? Heated lens covers for the headlights? Slider for rear window? Etc…

Sorry no. They are gonna milk the FS for all it’s worth until they are making them in mass quantities (70 to 100 per day is not a lot). I think it will finally get dropped when FS buyers get their truck within a month or so. Currently everyone, except for CA, Tx, FL, is sitting at a 90 wait or over. I know it sucks. I got the invite and waited for a month before finally pulling the trigger.

There are still December FS orders with no VIN/delivery. I think they need to get through those and January orders at least before they think about opening up regular orders. Production rate is going to need to be much higher as well.

Additionally, the all season wheels / tires combo must be ready to go before regular units can be sold. Tesla said "later this year", which typically means Q3 or Q4, but who knows.

The allure of purchasing a premium priced Foundation Series in part was the expected early delivery, for many in a window between January and March. With that promise unmet, Tesla should consider shaving money off the premium price especially given the likelihood that production of the conventional version will ramp up just when production of the “rare and early-delivery” Foundation Series ends. The promise of early delivery feels too gimmicky now. AWD, RN11282, NYC, January 11th order date, long-time Tesla owner.

It could be worse. Most reservation holders predicted that only the the flagship Cyberbeast Tri Motor would be available to order when production started.

If Tesla doesn‘t end FS production after 10k units I’m convinced all 2024 trucks will be FS.

I know it sucks for buyers like me waiting for non-FS trucks to start production but Tesla has a winner on its hands. It‘s the only Tesla vehicle that is in high demand right now.

All other Tesla models have slowed down. The rumor is that Tesla is sitting on 50k units of unsold inventory. This is new territory for the company. Leadership needs to develop a Plan B ASAP to help move the metal.

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear about layoff’s at the Fremont plant or asking assembly plant workers to transfer to Austin to assist with increases in Cybertruck production.

$20K price premium has me waiting. Thing is, that while I"m waiting, I'm also looking at the Ford Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV trucks. I just read that there will be a Chevy Silverado EV Truck later this year that will have a 20,000 pound tow rating. That significant additional towing capacity combined with the significant added range has me thinking, since those are important to me.

As a shareholder, current Chevy truck owner and future FS owner, no. ? Chevy EV will be limited for first 2 years and price is not guaranteed plus less max towing
