It’s one thing to highlight the triumphs of the CyberTruck preventing more harm than intended…

this thread is not that… EVERYTHING burns in such a disaster, with far more important “casualties”

Driving or yet alone running in a fire environment is one of the scariest things in life. Equiped or not, one has more power and drive to live if I could describe it.

Just think about that as one types on the keyboard today and those to come.

Another thread to ignore.. lives are on the line, some of which I know personally…
Nice work ignoring it by replying that you are ignoring it. Otherwise nobody would know you are ignoring it. And that would be a bummer. Because you did all the hard work to ignore it.

The CT could easily drove off. I love my CT too much to let it burn this way. It has HEPA filter to protect occupants. The owner didn't want it, so let the insurance covers it. It a perfect situation to get rid off you CT, for some people.

I will do everything I can to help. It’s absolutely devastating, especially knowing this could have been prevented.
Prevented how?

They only have enough time to run with one vehicle, unless you were in one of the yellow areas. You aren't allowed back in to get others.

Ummm 100% not true.

First, wildland fires burn between 1112f and 1832f. Not 1000s of degrees.

Second, cinderblocks do not burn and certainly do not turn to "ash". Cinderblocks are used for fire blocks. They don't burn. But they do have a "melting point" of around 1630c, or 2966f. Way beyond the heat of any wildland fire.

Fun fact: Most Fire departments' burn buildings are made of... yes you got it... cinderblock.

Yes, you notice what's missing from their burn buildings?

Furnishings. Yards. Cars. Trees. Books. Tools. Art. Food. Neighboring buildings. Wind. As hot fire; they only use hot enough to burn people.

Buildings made of cinderblock collapse in a wildfire just like others because cinderblocks don't survive thousands of degrees when the neighbors' place goes up. And they don't use training buildings on windy days.

I'm sorry, but you are just wrong. The high temperatures damage the crystal structures in the cinderblocks, and they crumble.

You sure about that? Guess what we burn in burn buildings (yes, I am speaking from experience)? Couches... mattresses, old donated furnishings, trash, all the things us FFs go into on a real fire. Why? Because we play like we train.

I am guessing you have never seen a fire department train on burn building day and what goes inside of it besides just wooden pallets.

Buildings made of cinderblock collapse in a wildfire just like others because cinderblocks don't survive thousands of degrees when the neighbors' place goes up. And they don't use them on wind days.
Spoken like a true know-it-all who doesn't know what she is talking about ? How many wildland fires have you been on and fought @Crissa ? I'm betting "0".

https://blockstrong.com/fire-resistant

From above:

Unlike wood, concrete block won’t burn. Unlike steel it won’t soften or bend. These facts have been confirmed in numerous “fire-wall tests” where walls have been subjected to gas flames and temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit for as long as 4 hours. None of the concrete walls failed structurally. In contrast, wood frame walls typically collapsed in less than an hour.

I'm sorry, but you are just wrong. The high temperatures damage the crystal structures in the cinderblocks, and they crumble.

Really? Again, spoken like someone who has experienced this. Well lets have a look at what is left standing at the LA fires in the last 24 hours:

Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck burned down in LA wildfires 1736453259535-h7

Are these brick chimneys?

and look at this... chimneys as far as the eye can see:

Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck burned down in LA wildfires 1736453395274-ae

According to you, shouldn't these have turned to ash or have fully crumbled? Brick and cinderblock takes a LONG time exposed to high heat to begin spalling. Brick faster than cinderblock... and if the brick is still standing, imagine the cinderblock... ?

Once again @Crissa you speak of items you have nothing that you know about, including your comments on EV battery fires in another thread which you and I had a round with.

For once, just stop pontificating on topics that you have little knowledge or experience. Chat about the things you know about.

Exactly my point, they choose the other vehicle, knowing the Ct is more capable. How do you know their situation anyway, was it you or someone you know? Anyway, it dose not matter now does it?

Not obvious that the battery is burned. Won’t battery fire be more intense?
Not more intense than a wind-blown wildfire.

Was it? Like you said, we don't know what they took. We don't know if they were outside the evacuation zone and couldn't come get their stuff, either!

That's like, my nightmare. Not being able to go back and get it when I'm off somewhere else.

It sad either way, I hear you. Hope for the best outcome for those who are affected.

To hell with this shit. Anyone who bitches about a few hours of some wind, rain and flooding down here in Florida needs to realize we have it real good compared to this hell on earth.
