For several reasons then this may be just a short end of quarter burst in sales. How many people were really needing the $7500 tax break to push them over the edge? Guessing many have lost patience and purchased already - FOMO and all.
I know a few contractors who love Cybertruck and were waiting for this deal. Most don’t realize the ripple effects of this deal. CT has to penetrate the market just enough to hook into this set of target customers (those who fall into this income group). Once it’s tapped in, Cybertruck will speak for itself. This is how products get widely adopted. Every deal or model variation will appeal to certain group. Once you have a strong targeted customers established, others will follow. Same thing will happen with RWD once it’s released.

There is always a wife who says “Look contractor Bob got a Cybertruck. We should get one too”. Word of mouth is a very powerful thing. I’m expecting tons of CTs on the road this year and even more in the next few years!

Dang I'm so close to being sold on this price but I really want white. It's not worth $9500 more, but I'm hoping they will let it roll as a free option soon like they did with paint jobs.

Any word on if we can buy FSD for the $8k after we buy the car, or do you have to buy it at point of time?

FSD is $8k now or later ($7k now for early reservation holders), but it doesn't impact credit eligibility dye to being a software option.

Can buy white panels and swap them later...

An in-between option?

I’d be willing to bet we see the “one paid option included with purchase of FSD” deal they do with S/X on CT in the very near future. This keeps it tax credit eligible so you basically get FSD and the white interior (or cyber wheels) for an extra $500 after paying the full $80K.

You can also subscribe to or buy FSD anytime, but POS is the only time you get to roll that $8K into your loan. If you wait, even a few days, you have to come up with that $8K up front before getting it. That $8K could also increase dramatically once unsupervised is released, possibly this year (he’s said that many times, but it actually might be true this time).

TWraps sell white DIY ppf for less than $1.7K. A bird in hand is better than two in the bush. The $7500 credit might not last long.

If you buy FSD, even if your Cybertruck is delivered with it, the price doesn't count towards the $80K limit for the $7,500 tax credit (because it's a software feature).

Truly hoping this drives sales to a new level in the US. Here in Canada $0 government rebates and still priced over $114k + options so it will really only penetrate a tiny part of the market until they can get below 100k (maybe RWD?). I've wanted this truck since 2019 and was kinda bummed to see the slowing momentum/polarization/elon effect hold this back from broader adoption.

Would be awesome to get some more details/confirmation on what truly changed in the battery setup and if there is any end user benefit on the range/charging curve as these VINs get delivered.

Right. He said he wanted the white interior, so I was saying he could get that for $82K today or the same thing with FSD for $80.5K if they offered that deal. They seem to do that for all their cars right at the tax credit threshold - S/X/M3P, so I bet CT is coming.

Tried using the Tesla App CT order configure with the $7000 FSD price, but it doesn’t show the $7500 Tax credit option?

Tried using referrals online tesla.com for $1000 off and this offsets the $8000 price for FSD. But once logging in to account the $1000 referral goes away?

Catch 22??!

Teslas just doesn’t want to sell me a CT, we have been arguing over price since November of 2023!

53 available in my area, I’m betting that goes down. I guess it depends on if demand will outpace production.
