I am curious if it is just my windshield wiper fluid, or if anyone else has this problem. Whenever I get some dirty snow on my windshield that dries up, and try to use the windshield wiper fluid that comes out of the big blade, it never releases enough fluid. No matter how long I do it. It just puts out tiny dots of fluid and then it wipes them away instantly leaving very dry streak marks that never get clean unless I splash a cup of water on my own windshield. I’m curious if my blade releases less fluid than it’s supposed to or if this is just a design flaw?

Blue sludge of smeared doom, pump it out of there and replace it.

Possible Causes:

  1. Clogged Washer Jets: The nozzles along the wiper blade can become blocked, leading to weak or uneven fluid distribution.
    Tesla Service Info

  2. Low Fluid Levels: Ensure that the windshield washer fluid reservoir is adequately filled. A low fluid level can result in insufficient fluid being dispensed.
    Tesla Service Info

  3. Heated Washer Jets: If your Cybertruck is equipped with the cold weather package, it may have heated washer jets that emit a stream of fluid directly onto the windshield, relying on the wiper blade to distribute it. This design can sometimes lead to uneven cleaning.

Recommended Actions:

  • Inspect and Clean Washer Jets: Use a thin strand of wire to clear any blockages in the washer jets.
    Tesla Service Info

  • Check Fluid Levels: Verify that the windshield washer fluid reservoir is full. If it's low, refill it with an appropriate washer fluid.
    Tesla Service Info

  • Consult Tesla Service: If the issue persists after performing the above steps, it's advisable to contact Tesla Service for further assistance.

Yeah I get roughly the same thing you get. Will try a few things like rain-X and different fluids.

Same with mine it’s pretty shitty if you ask me and when I drive in the snow my headlights get covered in snow which causes me to not have any lights at all! They really have to do something about this. They were only thinking about California!

Yes it is. Got all over my garage floor and I can’t get rid of the stain.

Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck windshield fluid kinda sucks? IMG_7948

It's garbage. From what I've determined, the washer fluid hose attaches in the center of the wiper. Some have mentioned a kink in the hose but I've not found one in mine. For me, the bottom portion of the wiper has adequate washer fluid since gravity is pulling it down. The portion of the wiper above the hose doesn't have much flow. Since the wiper only dispenses fluid on the up stroke, there simply isn't enough flow or time for the fluid to disperse across a larger area and I just end up with these streaks.

My second issue is that the windshield doesn't seem to be flat. I seem to have a low spot that the wiper has a hard time wiping.

Our 2015 Model S had a crappy windshield washer too. Service 'adjusted' the nozzles a few times but the entire design sucked. The refreshed Model S has a much improved washer. I'm guessing the CT washer will continue to suck until there is some sort of software update to spray fluid for more time or possible adjust the orifice sizes on the blade to allow a more even distribution of fluid.

I agree, that the fluid sucks, but most importantly the overall design needs some help. They put a completely new assembly on mine, as all the old one did was smear crap all over the windshield... This really needs attention as it's a safety hazard, what if you get mud splashed on you from oncoming traffic etc? then what?

@Firepower2010 does the new assembly have any updates or is it the same as what was replaced?

I have a service appointment scheduled Thursday (to fix some trim at the C pillar and tonneau that was misaligned at delivery). My reporting of the anemic windshield sprayer is noted in the service notes. I will report back to the forum if they improve the operation and/or tell me anything meaningful about this common issue. ?

I had this added to a service appointment and as far as I can tell, they cleaned my windshield manually but nothing else was any different or better. I made another appointment for the end of the month specifically for this because it’s been bothering me but I don’t know if it’s worth it unless there’s a solution. I mentioned this to service team and they said there may be no point but I could bring it back in again for them to take a look. I just feel like it’s a waste of time unless there’s a solution and there doesn’t seem to be.

If we all agree, current deliveries of the Cybertruck have the gen 2 design wiper arm

We need Gen 3 design which would include the following:

-Double the size of the fluid reservoir
-New wiper arm design with fluid despensed from both sides due to the rest position being vertical, need fluid first before moving down
-Dispense more fluid each time

Test, test, test with extreme condition of rock salt, dirt, snow slush on windshield, defrost and clear with the new Gen 3 wiper arm

When will we get this
Please fix all of the CTs
