I've rotated the tires on both my Y and CT. Here are some additional differences:

  • CT wheel & tire is much heavier. Close to 100lb each. I'm in decent shape and it is a struggle, even using some lug guide tool to make it easier. Model Y is so much easier in comparison.
  • Torque for Y is 129 ftlb, CT is 151 ftlb.
  • The smaller size 3 ton big red jack stands do not go high enough for the CT.
  • Don't need any pucks at all for the CT, on the jack or the jack stand.
  • Model Y has a single lift point in each corner. CT has both a lift point and jack stand point in each corner. It's easier for the CT because you can jack it up on one point and lower it onto a jack stand at the same point, as opposed to the other Teslas where you either construct a jack stand fitting your jack, or get an expensive all-in-one, or jack up one point so high that you can slip a jack stand underneath the other jack point.

I would highly advise everyone to avoid both of these places unless you want extreme laziness and incompetence to lead you to a damaged or destroyed vehicle. They only hire people if 1) they don't give a f*** about people's personal property and 2) they have a 40 IQ.
Have you ever even experienced a Costco? Unlike Sam's Club (and other discount tire chains), Costco has industry leading pay and employee benefits and the longest employee retention vs. the competition (this is usually a very good thing if you don't want someone greener than Astroturf working on your vehicle). Costco invests in creating long-lasting and loyal employees.

That said, I do my own tire rotations. It's just easier than driving somewhere.

I got pucks to not mark up the underside, but also for additional height. I suppose that won’t be necessary. Thanks for the write up, I’ll be doing my first rotation in about fifteen hundred miles.

I am yet to rotate the tires on the truck. I have two 4 Ton hydraulics jacks. Rotating tires on the Y is a breeze.

I am gathering there are 3 key differences:
1. Using hockey pucks vs Tesla specific lift pucks.
2. Placing the truck into “jack” mode
3. An extra lug nut, per wheel.
The cybertruck does not require pucks.

Lets us know the outcome? In touring my local tesla service center I saw their alignment equipment. So they definitely do them there. It is nice to have a service center so close. While it may be a little extra to get things done there, I still believe it is worth the costs of their expertise.
17/64" for the front
19/64" for the back
11,514 miles

Don't know how much of a big deal that is but I was surprised the fronts had more wear. Well, almost the same wear.

How do my Cybertruck friends do tire rotation? My local Mavis Tires & Brakes said my 8,300 pound Cybertruck was too close to the limit of their 10,000 pound lift.
I rotated wheels on my model Y when service reminder popped around 6k miles, I measured across each tread and counted find any wear difference. With AWD, I am not sure it’s worth the trouble. I rotated front to back. I will keep an eye on wear to determine if going to rotate again at 12k. My CT is approaching 6k, again I dont measure any uneven tire wear, ”IF” I decide to rotate soon, it will again be front to rear.

I did it myself with floor jacks and jack stands. It wasn't fun because those wheels are HEAVY; but I got it done and looking forward to the new one!

Appreciate the reply. Mavis doesn’t charge for rotating the tires, and at 70 years of age, I’d rather not get hurt doing it myself. I rebuilt my 1972 Ford Pinto decades ago, and used to service all my cars myself years ago, but now …
I'm wit ya! At 78 I'm not very enthused about rolling around under my vehicles on a creeper!
I DID do my tire rotation and the only problem I had was lifting those tires!

I plan on using Tesla SC. I’m at 4.5k miles on my Beast; if the stars align I’ll have it done with my Light Bar install which I’m still waiting on.
