How do my Cybertruck friends do tire rotation? My local Mavis Tires & Brakes said my 8,300 pound Cybertruck was too close to the limit of their 10,000 pound lift.
Try 6,600 pounds for starters. Less than a Suburban.

I would highly advise everyone to avoid both of these places unless you want extreme laziness and incompetence to lead you to a damaged or destroyed vehicle. They only hire people if 1) they don't give a f*** about people's personal property and 2) they have a 40 IQ.
Correct Torque matters. I have ONLY seen Discount Tire do it.

I've rotated the tires on both my Y and CT. Here are some additional differences:

  • CT wheel & tire is much heavier. Close to 100lb each. I'm in decent shape and it is a struggle, even using some lug guide tool to make it easier. Model Y is so much easier in comparison.
  • Torque for Y is 129 ftlb, CT is 151 ftlb.
  • The smaller size 3 ton big red jack stands do not go high enough for the CT.
  • Don't need any pucks at all for the CT, on the jack or the jack stand.
  • Model Y has a single lift point in each corner. CT has both a lift point and jack stand point in each corner. It's easier for the CT because you can jack it up on one point and lower it onto a jack stand at the same point, as opposed to the other Teslas where you either construct a jack stand fitting your jack, or get an expensive all-in-one, or jack up one point so high that you can slip a jack stand underneath the other jack point.
Try this! This makes it easy to line up the studs.

I'm wit ya! At 78 I'm not very enthused about rolling around under my vehicles on a creeper!
I DID do my tire rotation and the only problem I had was lifting those tires!
When I pull tires these days, I sit in front of the tire on my little rolling chair (or on the ground if I'm out) and put one foot on either side of the tire which is just barely off the ground. By rocking onto my heels, I can lift the tire just enough to get it off the lugs with very little effort. I suppose, if one were inclined, you could get one of those little 3-castor-wheel dollies and set it under a wheel and then lower the jack until the wheel just touches and then you could just roll the wheel away and to its new location.
Innovation comes from the lazy...

I requested my tire rotation service on Monday through the Tesla app, got notified instantly that a mobile tech was available Wednesday morning. I confirmed the time slot and the tech showed up to my house yesterday and rotated the tires in my driveway. Flawless service, he was especially careful to put the aero covers back on with perfect alignment.

It was a $65 flat fee, paid through the app.

I am 70. This makes lifting easy and helps line up the studs.

I made this little tool to align heavy wheels on the hub. Another easy way is to set down if front of the tire and cradle it between your legs to lift and align it to the studs.

I took mine to a Tesla SC for its first rotation.

Tech called and said all tires were wearing perfectly even and no rotation was needed. Saved me the $65 fee.

When it's due for its second rotation, I'll use Tesla again. Maybe I'll get lucky a second time, haha!!

$65 at my local Tesla service center in Southern CA. Got appointment in 5 days. They said mobile service should be able to it soon when they get the mobile equipment for the Cybertruck. While in for service they replaced my sail panels under warranty just to be safe, wasn’t part of the recall but one of the applique doors was loose. They did a great job aligning my cyber wheel covers, better than I was doing myself.

I scheduled the same for mobile tech $65, (Bay Area), however when he was 5 mins away he called and said he didn’t realize it was a Cybertruck and his jacks weren’t rated for the CT weight. So he verified I needed the rotation before calling local service center to squeeze me in the next day (took an hour)

17/64" for the front
19/64" for the back
11,514 miles

Don't know how much of a big deal that is but I was surprised the fronts had more wear. Well, almost the same wear.
The Cyberbeast is normally Front-Wheel Drive (when not accelerating or regen braking hard), the Dual Motor is normally RWD. The front wheels do most of the steering too. So it makes sense that the Cyberbeast front tires normally wear faster. The exception to this would be if the owner was constantly doing insane acceleration and very little cruising along at steady speeds.

In my experience, and from reading tire wear reports from other Dual Motor owners, most Dual Motor owners won't need to rotate tires. Even some Cyberbeast owners might not need regular rotations (depending upon usage patterns). But everyone should have a tire tread depth gauge so they can periodically monitor tread wear patterns. They are cheap and pretty easy to use:

By taking left edge, right edge and tread center measurements after a few thousand miles of driving with consistent and carefully maintained tire pressures, you can determine if that tire pressure is suitable for your particular use case. A deeper tread in the center indicates pressures too low. It has to do with how much cornering your driving involves and how much gear, passengers and other weight you typically carry around with you.

By taking careful measurements around the center of the tread, you can measure how well your tires were manufactured and balanced. Variations here indicate the tread is not wearing evenly all the way around. Unless this is caused by poor balancing, there is no way to compensate for this. I buy quality tires, and keep them balanced, so I've never had this problem.

If tread depth measures very close to the same from tire to tire, and from inner to outer edges, there is no need to rotate them. If the only variation is from center to edge, you need to adjust your tire pressure.

My left tires were 1/32nd less than the matching right and the rears 1/32nd less than matching front. I also wanted to rotate the spare into the mix, since I'll likely switch to all seasons. If everything wears similarly, they'll all be fairly equal at next rotation. I'm expecting to get ~24k out of the set, maybe 30k if I push it.

Similar wear to my Model X, except I could only swap them side to side.
