Not a stranger to the five minus 4 finger wave driving a CT but it seems, anecdotally, that the last 1-2 weeks they have increased a lot.
If you check the phone activity of everyone doing this, you will find that they brain rot themselves on Tik-tok.

And no, I'm not being facetious. There has been a targeted campaign going on for a while. It really is a serious societal degradation problem.

I'll find out soon here in north Idaho... I'd imagine the north is more welcoming than the south, ironically.
Why would you imagine that?

The middle finger to CTs is almost exclusively from the left while, for a while, the thumbs down were from people who generally didn't like it.

Maybe it is something targeted, it just seems so much more prevalent the last week or two. More fingers in the last two weeks than the last several months prior.

Nope. Went to Yosemite recently and figured if anyone was going to do something, it would be there. 1 flip off on the way; that’s it. When at a vista point, 2 people called it ugly, but an overwhelming bunch liked it and took pics with it. Even spoke with a number of people from Germany on a US trip and they liked it. Even let one of them in the truck to take a picture.

I have gotten past the point where they bother me, especially when the other driver is not getting to close with their vehicle.

But even here in the south the number of fingers seem to be up 3-4x for me in the last two weeks. Stock cybertruck, no crazy polarizing wrap, no bumper stickers, etc.
Besides the usual 1-2 "Philly Hellos" a week have the rest of you seen a steep increase in the last week or so?

(this one below is an outlier, typically it is a beat up VW or trashed Subaru, this is the first well kept and semi nice car to wave hello in this fashion this week.)

A media wave is cresting regarding the Tesla (not just CT) attacks. Boneheads are gonna blow which ever the trend wave blows. The boneheads are just announcing themselves because they want to feel part of "something". I doubt most even know why they do it, it's just the latest thing.

It's pretty exclusive to CTs. I've never been flipped off in my MS, MY, MX, etc. The CT is seen as Elon's baby and also referred to as the Nazi-mobile.

It you watch Whaam Baam Teslacam, other Tesla's get the salute. Heck, they were even getting keyed a few years back when sentry mode went live, quite a few videos of that.
Are there more now? Yes, because of the upheaval of politics.
I had a Y and I got coal rolled within the first 3 days I owned it in 2023. I never noticed fingers because I don't look at the other drivers, I watch the vehicles..
It's never a non-zero possibility.

I get tempted when I see another CT, but don't as if they are not in on the joke don't want to cause any more stress.

I think the average person doesn't know what a M3 or MY is driving down the road, with the CT there is no chance they are accidentally flipping off a Honda.

The Cybertruck is just easy for an idiot to identify. I was just in LA and saw so many Cybertrucks. There's no way people will be able to keep this up. They will soon move on when social media tells them too.

You’ll probably be peak one finger salute until summer when everyone breaks for the summer. Although, that may increase cases of vandalism.

I had the occasional finger and thumbs down when I owned my Lightning. On the work sites, I’d have that one guy walk in who I could tell was wanting to give me his opinions on EV’s, he didn’t get what he expected.

I’m trying to prepare myself mentally. Been thinking hard about trading my Sierra EV for the CT. I hate attention, but it’s a great truck and I want to be supportive. We were going to trade my wife’s car for the new MY, but these idiots have her terrified of driving a Tesla. That means I have to give up my ride if we’re going to have one in the house.

I've been getting an average of 1 middle finger every 10 miles from oncoming traffic on a major two lane highway in a rural area.

Many of the "gesturers" have been driving Subaru Outbacks.

I just smile and wave, and hope it cheers them up a little.

All of the irrational hate and bewilderment is a sure sign to me that EVs are going to RADICALLY crush and overtake ICE vehicles. And soon. People can feel it in their bones.

And we all know people hate change, and things they don't understand. I keep trying my best to tell my friends and family that they are likely driving around in their last ICE car; just purely based off of the physics of having dramatically less parts overall, and especially less moving parts.

Most of them immediately scoff at me. Can't wait to neener-neener right in their faces lmao
