Here’s mine. Always in beast mode. I drive generally aggressively but not super crazy.

I’m always in beast mode too. And I do a lot of drives that are going up our local mountain which is a 10,000 foot elevation change, but coming back down ought to even that out so …

I hope that we get more participants but I gotta say I’m surprised that there are so few getting less than 350 and happy to see that 500+ is such a huge outlier in our small sample.

479 Wh/mi for me. Beast with 9,463 miles, and I drive it like any Tesla should be driven (FAST).

I’m sure most people know this, but just for those who don’t:

The equation for calculating your real world range: battery pack size (in kWh) divided by kWh/mi. Finding kWh/mi is easy. Divide your Wh/mi by 1,000. For me, that’s 0.479.

CT has a 123 kWh battery pack. Take my lifetime usage: 123/0.479 = 256.79 mi range. Although I only charge to 80%, only giving me 98.40 usable kWhs… 98.40/0.479 = 205.43 mi range.

Say I’m on a road trip and I’m at, say, 64% state of charge. Now I find 64% of 123 kWh (78.72), then do the math. 78.72/0.479 = 164.34 miles. If the supercharger is 170 miles away, I’m in trouble. You can play with the numbers and find out what Wh/mi you’ll need to get there. 78.72/0.463 = 170.02, so I’d certainly need to keep it below 463 Wh/mi to make it.

Knowing this is particularly useful when towing or hauling heavy loads. It’s not particularly hard to pull over 1,000 Wh/mi when doing truck stuff. If you’re someone who keeps your screen/app on miles instead of percentage, that number will fall like a ton of bricks and be nowhere close to real. Percentage always is.

Here are the numbers to shoot for if you want the actual quoted ranges:
Beast A/S (320 mi range): 384 Wh/mi
Beast A/T (301 mi range): 408 Wh/mi
AWD A/S (325 mi range): 378 Wh/mi
AWD A/T (314 mi range): 391 Wh/mi

Math is our friend!

I'm right over 400 wh/mi. A majority of the miles I drove was in the winter. During better weather, I was 350 wh/mi or less.

Is there a break-in period or is the range on the first 2k the same you will get at 20k if you don’t adjust driving parameters (how fast you drive, type of drives, elevations, tires, etc)?

My past Tesla’s range degraded slightly by 20K miles. My CT only has 10K miles (well, just under) but hasn’t shown ANY degradation so far.

Great question. I have a couple pictures/data points over the 15k miles in the truck. After the first two long road trips (around 1,300 and 900 miles) my lifetime average never went below 408 Wh/mi and was as high as 434 Wh/mi. Our X has 56k miles and after that many miles it is really hard to “move” the lifetime Wh/mi number unless you drastically change your driving style or take a trip you normally don’t do like a long road trip at faster speeds than you normally drive. Our X has been on a couple 5,000+ mile road trips so it’s average is pretty locked in. Will report back at the end of April to see how our 4,700+ mile road trip moves the trucks lifetime Wh/mi.

Small update after the first part of our road trip, about 2,208 miles.

AWD running stock AT no aero covers with a lot of freeway/highway speeds 75+ mph

Honestly, I'm amazed at the efficiency of the CT. I have the AWD with 3,200 miles on it and I'm averaging (lifetime) of 445 wh/mi. This is also a little higher bc I had 3 months of free Supercharging so I was pretty much exclusivly supercharging it and when warming up the battery, I'd see the wh/mi increase.

In my normal day to day driving of a mix of highway and city streets, I average anywhere between 340 - 420 wh/mi. The stated range is 378 wh/mi.

After the road trip over over 5,000 miles the lifetime average has moved up a little.

My beast's lifetime avg is 403 kWh. I do more 2 lane rural roads than high speed highway, though. And FSD is also more chill than I would be if I were driving. But, these days it's driving more than I am.

My average is now down to 426 wh/mi (4,400 miles)

20,000 miles. 70% on trips
My usable range has dropped to 150 miles. 60% efficiency. I just drove 700 miles last night. I charge to 300 miles. Drive it to last 25 to 50 miles. I'm only getting 150 miles.
When I first got it. I got 250
What? Take it to SC. Clearly something is a miss.
