I'm not sure why people think this guy is going to get the book thrown at him for keying a car. I can't find any reference to that kind of vandalism being a class A felony in NH, but rather a class A misdemeanor or class B felony based on damage. Unless this guy already has a criminal record, he's probably going to get probation and have to pay restitution. It's the destruction of his career and reputation that these people should be scared of.

Yea it looks like it was a straight keying, did not carve any "symbols" into the car which could have increased the charges. If that is the case he may have to pay $1-2k to have the wrap redone, and do a little community service, and if that is the case the social and employment repercussions will be the worst of it.
If it was a symbol he carved in with his key he could be looking at time.
