From a Teslarati article regarding the the new model Y -

"To make a long story short, I’m really happy I did not pull the trigger on the Legacy Model Y in February. The new Tesla Model Y is truly a much-improved version of what was already a great vehicle, and while I still think the Cybertruck is the best vehicle in Tesla’s lineup, the new ‘Juniper’ is right up there with it."

Granted, it's one opinion but all the other comments/ articles are opinion driven as well.

I demoed the cyberbeast for 48 hours and loved it. It's definitely something I'll be purchasing in the near future.

Relative to other EV sales the cybertruck is doing fine. I think the issues stems from the marketing of 500 mile range, a cheaper price, a million reservations, etc.

I agree with your summation, so disappointing when the price was so much higher and the range was so much lower, especially after reserving very early on and so excited about the product that was promised.
Despite all that, I am really happy about being able to own and drive a CT every day, some day soon

Who are you trying to impress or not offend? Why would you care what others think about what you drive? If it makes you smile when you drive it, get it.

Every article, media mention, etc. was driven by ad dollars. Keep that in mind the next time you think an article writer is speaking for half the world; they're not.

Life's too short to try to please people who aren't even in your life.

After owning this truck for past 6 months, I'll say i actually don't care if the value becomes $0 tomorrow. Tesla's secret sauce is its Software/FSD and Charging Infrastructure. Haven't seen a single manufacturer even come close to this.

And ever since they opened up their charging infrastructure to other brands, the only people who will buy Tesla are those who would want Tesla for above reasons. You could find other luxury vehicles which would be better than Tesla in that department but everybody else would be playing catch up since Tesla had almost 10 year headstart. (Seeing my Model 3 or CT driving itself on city streets is something I only came to appreciate after getting behind Super Cruise etc.) So again, Tesla's power is software and the car is just a hardware that moves you from one place to another.

Now let's talk about CT. Early Gen 1 issues? Sure. Brand new platform. This was bound to happen. But being able to drive this giant hunk of steel and aluminum using steer by wire is like driving a vehicle in-game using Logitech or Thurstmaster gaming wheel. Then the humming sound it makes which you either may have heard in a scifi movie from a vehicle driving on the moon OR from the batmobile in Dark Knight trilogy, you'll instantly know this is a keeper.

CT is DeLorean. CT is Eleanor. And when it self drives itself and next when it will unpark, park or do Summon.... I am actually perfectly fine if they don't make more. As long as we get that software support. Which I'm sure we will.

None of them are hits. In 2024, all of those EV pickups put together were easily outsold by the Ford Maverick.
But any variant of all the other trucks was outsold by the Maverick. The only reason they're counted as outselling the Maverick is because they're lumping together trucks with vastly different cabs, beds, frames, and engines.

It's just a silly bar, but you were pointing that out. That said, it was really only availability that capped sales for most of 2024, and then they were stuck to that 45%-higher-than-inflation price point.

If Tesla can ever get to that target price point, they'll have no problem selling these trucks. Their capability will eventually speak volumes.

Have owned a CT for 6 weeks. I filtered out the signal from the noise. It’s the best vehicle I’ve owned for its mission: Tough. Big. Maintenance-free. Easy to drive. A camper. House power backup. About 60MPG equivalent. And the most important: It’s a low-rider that plays La Cucaracha through it’s outside speaker.

I used to own an H2 Hummer but had to sell it when the warranty expired since so many things were going wrong. I have a CT now and very happy , I think it is better than H2 Hummer. I have charging both at office and home and do not need to go to charging station. My wife says that the ride with the CT is very smooth and extremely comfortable.

CT is the best Tesla of all time. Why is OP engaging in Fake News and then coming to enthusiasts' board to stir the pot? CT isn't going anywhere. Has Op ordered one yet?

Performance was never an issue for Tesla but they have really upped the game on overall build, feel, and comfort with the newer models. Changed out the M3 for the Highland and Model S for an AWD CT. CT should remain exclusive as it is a unique vehicle. Yes it has had recalls. By way of comparison, have had several recalls on the new model BMW i7 including a safety recall which did not have a remedy for 8 months - did anyone hear about it - likely not. Don't really care what the mostly ignorant, click-seeking influencers, think or say!

I have read all the negative hit pieces from legacy media and the clickbait on YouTube. They have a vested interest in taking down Tesla, and in conjunction, the Trump agenda.
I don’t believe ANY of them.
I’m ordering a new CyberBeast this week; I’ve been like a little kid every time I get behind the wheel!
I’ve been a gearhead my entire life and I haven’t been this giddy since I got my ‘57 Chevy back in the 60s!!
A CB eh? I see you have a chosen violence! You'll be in heaven because it's violently fast and it will; mindf@k you with its speed and features because you will be sitting in a truck that is doing all of that stuff. Welcome!

I’ve only ever purchased cars because I like them… not because others told me not to like them.

California Beetle Bug/SuperBeetle
CRX
Scion XB (original Box)
Honda Element SC (more prettier ugly duckling)
Audi A3
Chevy Volt (1st Gen)
BMW i3 w/ Range Extender (best car ever!!)
ModelY
CyberTruck

A wide spectrum of public opinion…and I still live and breathe to speak about them..

I loved them all..

I'm selling mine, OP convinced me. /sarcasm
I have not made any final decisions and after reading the fantatic posts here, I am overwhelming in favor of going through with my order. I will own a CT at some point. But the deal has to make sense because at some point I will move on from whatever I am enjoying now in favor of something newer and shinier ?. That will be difficult with CT considering the stainless steel body

Couple more things I would add which I forgot in my previous response. If you're actually looking for a "Truck Truck" meaning you want to use it for towing stuff, or as a proper work horse. I would say there are better options out there (that's not my use case) . I use it as a Glorified SUV/Truck Hybrid. It allows me to do trips. It allows me comfort. And it does that while being insanely fast. The ease of doing quick lane changes (like you would otherwise do with Civic Type R or like Model 3) speeding through the city streets is extremely cool when you are behind the wheel. Although I'm sure people outside would see it as defying physics due to sheer size.

In short, it's for fun and a statement vehicle. Not for faint of heart .

The last piece is, since this is Gen 1, I do expect more service center visits. Like the service center I go to, everybody know me by now. So yes that WILL happen. However, EVERYTIME they have fixed the problem and I have come out happier on the other side. As long as they are doing that and it's not costing me a penny. I'm fine with that.

I had a Mercedes GL450 that had an open recall for defective and potentially lethal airbags for more than 3 years. I called every 60 days or so to see if parts were in, but nothing. It wasn’t the final straw as to why I sold it. The final straw was a $5,500 bill to replace the rear seal.
