Coming up on 20k miles in 1 year of ownership and I simply love my Cybertruck for so many reasons.

Turn off the media and do what makes you happy.
Best car I have ever driven.. not even close.. negative media and white liberal women middle fingers and laughing don’t even touch or deter me.. I can’t imagine going to any other vehicle.. I have had mine for almost a year

I am seeing many Youtube posts making the case for the Cybertruck being a total failure and even surpassing the Edsel as the worst new car failure ever.
I have a Foundation CT on order, awaiting recall repairs for the cantrail issue so I haven't received my CT yet.
I am growing concerned that maybe this purchase is a mistake. The FUD is working.
Also, I am thinking if I hold out a little longer, until the 1st quater earnings call, maybe there will be some serious additional incentives on the CT if Tesla really does need to start moving these trucks due to super low sales and all the issues with panels falling off, etc.
I would sure appreciate the community's feedback on this.

No, I made an account so I can be a part of the Cybertruck owners community. Read through my posts and responses and you will see. I am a long time Tesla/Musk fan and owner, starting in 2018. this will be my 8th Tesla and my 13th EV. This will be my first Cybertruck. I am posting this because I am anxious about Tesla and it's direction given the current situation with Elon and Tesla and I wanted the communities' responses and opinions.

And BTW if you look at my Joined date, says June 17, 2022. I also have two early CT reservations.

Couple more things I would add which I forgot in my previous response. If you're actually looking for a "Truck Truck" meaning you want to use it for towing stuff, or as a proper work horse. I would say there are better options out there (that's not my use case) . I use it as a Glorified SUV/Truck Hybrid. It allows me to do trips. It allows me comfort. And it does that while being insanely fast. The ease of doing quick lane changes (like you would otherwise do with Civic Type R or like Model 3) speeding through the city streets is extremely cool when you are behind the wheel. Although I'm sure people outside would see it as defying physics due to sheer size.

In short, it's for fun and a statement vehicle. Not for faint of heart .

The last piece is, since this is Gen 1, I do expect more service center visits. Like the service center I go to, everybody know me by now. So yes that WILL happen. However, EVERYTIME they have fixed the problem and I have come out happier on the other side. As long as they are doing that and it's not costing me a penny. I'm fine with that.
Thanks for your great responses! I have exactly the same use case. I will not tow, probably never, I will use my CT for daily transportation and I will use FSD at every possible opportunity. I will supercharge a lot! I know its not good for the battery, but I don't care. I actually love going to my local Tesla service center. They always hook me up a loaner so now I have something different to drive for awhile while they take care of whatever needs to be done. They always get it done and they are real, genuine people with no ulterior motive that I have ever seen, unlike every sleazy car dealer I have ever dealt with.

Current political shittiness will subside. I'll be honest, I have been keeping Sentry mode on all the time now. So I am not a fan of what's going on. But at the same time, nothing gives anybody authority to burn or damage personal property. My coworker who got his truck with me (first week of launch in Canada) sold his because he couldn't handle the hate (and also because somebody actually tried to run him off a highway when he was on a trip with his family). I told him that I won't. I got it because I'm a nerd. And I'm keeping it. People just need to grow up. He got the Denali EV. It's a great truck. Comfy. But he misses the Tesla software and Steer by wire

On the other hand, I see Musk as a sociopath and narcissist. But at the same time (and not justifying it) you may need to be like that to get your way in accomplishing what you want to accomplish. Not a single company he has been part of tanked. He has "a vision" . Whether that vision is good or bad for everybody is debatable. But just having that vision puts him above the rest because the rest of the manufacturers are just in money making and consumer milking business. The day Robotaxi will launch we will start seeing people's opinion change. (He just needs to get away from politics by then)

If it makes you feel better, I work remote and hardly drive anywhere. When I do, its to pick up a jersey mike sandwich for lunch and that is the payload and duty I normally use on the truck. Why dont you experience the truck, rent it on Turo and see how the vehicle fits your lifestyle? Its great to hear other people’s opinions about something, but its better to form your own opinion instead of speculation and assumptions and other people’s click bait desperate responses for subscriptions and likes and notifications? This truck with the features and compications it provides compared to any other vehicle that I can purchase in the United States is better suited for my purpose than a Urus or a Jetta. I have operated excavators and been in sub ten grand nationals that have done wheelies. I bought the truck and really do not care what other people’s opinions are. I even use the net in my frunk to hold my sandwich when I drive two whole miles back on FSD.

I picked up my Foundation AWD 2 weeks ago and I have had zero issues - cosmetic or other. They performed all the TSBs before I was allowed to pick it up. So we'll see. I put 500 miles on already and will use this as a daily driver to see when and if anything breaks.

I was told that all the Cybertrucks will have all TSBs addressed before pickup. Especially if you are picking up any 2024 model.

In fact, I like mine so much, I'll pick up a used one in a year or so and leave it at my vacation home.

No regrets on my CT purchase. You got to remember the problem with YouTube is it's all primarily non-expert YouTubers and most of them are using AI to help find and generate their content and they are incentivized to shit on it because they make their living off of clicks and views and the Cyber truck is the hottest easiest low-hanging clickbaitable thing out there right now. I wish I had a link or could remember who it was but I saw or read something by one decently known YouTuber who was comparing View click and other metric results for videos they posted with negative cyber truck titles and pictures versus positive it was staggering.

The eight recalls is nowhere near the issue people want to make it out to be. Three of them were over there updates leaving five and that is really not at all unusual for a new vehicle or even some Vehicles that have been out for years. I have a whole cut and paste Facebook reply that goes into this in detail LOL

Also, and I'm going to post about this in another thread because I'm curious what others are seeing, but already in the last couple weeks I'm seeing a drop off in the hate online and even driving around. Two weekends ago I spent the weekend in Chicago and was prepared for the worst and I saw Zero middle fingers and had zero negative interactions. Maybe it's also my algorithm adjusting but I see way less online now also. Or maybe my friends got tired of not being able to counter my rebuttal comments and fact Corrections LOL. For a while there, and maybe still for you, the hate and negativity was so in my face but when I really stopped to think and look around and pay attention online and when I was driving I realized it was just seeming worse than what it was because it was so intense and a handful of people in my circle were posting non-stop online but even out in public while I would see middle fingers more regularly I still had more and do have more positive interactions than negative.

As long as my warranty is honored I'm good with whatever happens because it's my favorite and best vehicle I've ever owned in my opinion and is pretty perfect for my use cases.

RE: your coworker...

I would have asked him "So, if someone starts complaining about your NEW car are you going to sell it too?"

and while I still think the Cybertruck is the best vehicle in Tesla’s lineup, the new ‘Juniper’ is right up there with it."
