RE: your coworker...

I would have asked him "So, if someone starts complaining about your NEW car are you going to sell it too?"
I don't think it was the complaining that did it.

But when somebody tries to deliberately run you off the highway so could crash, and then you start seeing people burning Teslas within the city, vandalize few of them (60) in just an hour distance from home. On top of all this, if the family is not totally a fan of the truck due to the attention it gets, it's better to choose sanity over the truck.

In my case though its opposite, I'll actually go insane at the thought of letting go of what I like and what I want to do because of somebody else.

Dude it’s 100k vehicle… there’s no other vehicle selling better. It’s not a cold weather or rural vehicle because of the charging issues. In moderate weather area with lots of charging stations it’s the best vehicle out there, I put over 9k miles on mine in 2 months, free supercharging and a road trip NorCal to central Florida and back made it awesome. Driving 2900 miles in 4 days is easy if Tesla is driving you. It’s a great tool if you have the $$$ to spend. If you doubt yourself reading everything anyone else says just get a Prius, there’s nothing more practical.

WOW, they must really hate Tesla's up in Canada!

I thought it was bad in Southern California these days... BUT, I think it's more stories and such in reality...

BUT, if someone tried to run ME off the road... well, let's just say they would end up in a ditch themselves as I drove past...

Current political shittiness will subside. I'll be honest, I have been keeping Sentry mode on all the time now. So I am not a fan of what's going on. But at the same time, nothing gives anybody authority to burn or damage personal property. My coworker who got his truck with me (first week of launch in Canada) sold his because he couldn't handle the hate (and also because somebody actually tried to run him off a highway when he was on a trip with his family). I told him that I won't. I got it because I'm a nerd. And I'm keeping it. People just need to grow up. He got the Denali EV. It's a great truck. Comfy. But he misses the Tesla software and Steer by wire

On the other hand, I see Musk as a sociopath and narcissist. But at the same time (and not justifying it) you may need to be like that to get your way in accomplishing what you want to accomplish. Not a single company he has been part of tanked. He has "a vision" . Whether that vision is good or bad for everybody is debatable. But just having that vision puts him above the rest because the rest of the manufacturers are just in money making and consumer milking business. The day Robotaxi will launch we will start seeing people's opinion change. (He just needs to get away from politics by then)
Very well said.. all of it

I am seeing many Youtube posts making the case for the Cybertruck being a total failure and even surpassing the Edsel as the worst new car failure ever.
I have a Foundation CT on order, awaiting recall repairs for the cantrail issue so I haven't received my CT yet.
I am growing concerned that maybe this purchase is a mistake. The FUD is working.
Also, I am thinking if I hold out a little longer, until the 1st quater earnings call, maybe there will be some serious additional incentives on the CT if Tesla really does need to start moving these trucks due to super low sales and all the issues with panels falling off, etc.
I would sure appreciate the community's feedback on this.
I also have the Foundation CT and am waiting for the recall to be fixed before delivery. Ordered on March 31st and delivery was moved to April 19th… tentatively. My advisor said they have no real eta on parts for the fix so it could go into May. Which really bummed me out. So I do not currently own a cybertruck at the moment, but I do own a model X and people said negative things about it being over priced, gimmicky, poorly built. But it is, and has been the best car I have ever owned and driven… by far. I wouldn’t get caught up in the negativity. If you like it, want it, and can afford it, get it. The perks you are getting, free supercharging, but mainly the FSD make it worth it in my opinion. If you are still unsure or second guessing yourself, I suggest taking one for a test drive if you can and have not done so already. If you liked it enough to order one without driving it, you will love it after you do. It is truly amazing.

As someone who received my Cybertruck in August 2024, I say buying one today is a no-brainer.

Price cuts, LIFETIME SUPERCHARGING, no years of waiting for your preorder…

I know the recall wait is disappointing but put in context it is well worth the wait. Deep down you know you want a Cybertruck, otherwise you would have walked away and bought something else by now.

Coming up on one year of ownership and 15k miles. I absolutely love my CT! It's amazing in so many ways and certainly not for everyone. I've owned Mercedes, Jaquar's, Maserati's and other exotics and this is my favorite so far!

Just buy what makes you happy, whatever it is!

The truth is the Cybertruck is engineered to last 1+ million miles.
Tesla doesn't advertise this revolutionary aspect of unheard of durability.

The only other vehicle to come close was the Mercedes W123 many now with 1+ million miles.
In a commercial world of 'planned obsoleteness' vehicles like this are indeed very desirable.

I have a Lightning Lariat and the couple days I have spent driving the CT blow away my Lightning. However I will say I love the creature comforts and amenities in the Lightning
Same here. I wish I could have both.

Dude, I have read and listened to them all.
‘Had a new RaptorR when my CyberBeast came in.
I kept them both for a few months and the one I am driving now is the CB.
it is just fun to drive and love the steer by wire, acceleration, the way it drives up the mountain to our cabin cannot get beat, period!
A perfect truck, nope but none of them are and none have ever given me more pleasure driving them.
No regrets here.

I wouldn't trust any reviews on YouTube or and left leaning media organizations. If you are worried about the value of perception then it may not be the truck for you. If you are looking for the best truck on the market and probably the coolest thing you have ever driven then I'd say get it. I have had my AWD FS since August and I'm stoked, it's never let me down whether beating super cars or going rock crawling all weekend in the middle of nowhere. It's a fantastic DD (not that I've ever used it for that ;)

I really like the idea of a Cybertruck lasting 1 million miles. I googled that idea and 500,000 miles was the info I was able to find. It’s all based on driving conditions and style of driving and just how an owner cares for the vehicle.

I canceled my order that I had scheduled for March 24, now I’m waiting to see what the next quarter will offer in late May/beginning of June.
