Exactly! I could never figure out why so many people were so excited by the lightbar. I'm still strying to come up with a use-case when I would be glad to have a bright, glaring light capable of lighting up much of a football field and I keep coming up blank because I don't expect to find myself in a 24/hour Baja Off-Road race.

If I end up needing to drive at high speeds, off-road, at night, I will say, "Damn! I wish I had the lightbar!". Until then, I'm perfectly happy with the exterior lighting on the Cybertruck.
As a FS Beast driver, I would have traded my light bar for basically any other perks Tesla offered.

The police in my area are very strict, I would be nervous driving around without blackout tape over the lights. At that point, why do I even have it?

What’s the cost for non FS Beasts? Can any CT owner buy one?

The light bar is illegal on public roads in NY, even when off, if not covered.

You either need to risk getting a ticket every time you drive, or it needs to be covered in some way. The way I will cover it is with blackout tape, since I don't belive there is a better solution yet (i.e. - plastic cover).

It's no different than tint tickets. In my area if your window has basically any tint at all, you'll get pulled over.

I've been driving mine during the day at 1% as a DRL, and have had no issues, Even set across the intersection from several police, without any issue.
I walked around the outside of the truck while it was on and blinded me if I got in the right spots.

Well in Arizona they don’t seem to care about that stuff. Especially the tint. So if anyone who isn’t the scammer who previously tried to take my money wants to sell me a light bar, I’d be glad to take it off your hands.
I bought one of the aftermarket ones from testudio and after it got here I kind of realized I’d regret not getting the Tesla one I actually want indefinitely. So it’s still sitting in my garage. If you want one at a good price, DM me.
There is a non-Tesla or aftermarketTesla service center here in Phoenix which I know can order from the Tesla parts catalogue. Do you guys think if I try order one through them they woud need a cyberbeast VIN to order it?
I have a FS AWD

TSportline makes a Cybertruck lightbar that can be easily disconnected and detached when not in use. They also offer brackets for stowing the lightbar in your bed. If the lightbar is disconnected and sitting in your bed, that guarantees legal compliance everywhere.

Seems like a more thoughtful approach than just gluing a lightbar to the windshield. In addition to possible legal issues, what happens to the lightbar if you need to replace the windshield?

Picked my Beast up in August. I'm waiting for that email. I'm on the fence about having it installed. I mean, if Tesla offered me Supercharging in lieu of it... Anyway, I'll end up having it installed just to help set my Beast apart from the AWDs. I suppose if Tesla was offering it to all models, I would just skip it.

I see your point but I think it’s a desirable enough product that eventually a lot more Trucks wiill be wearing one. Including RWD trucks and AWD trucks.

Maybe but I just don't see Tesla offering an OEM version...

I’m not sure I understand the premise. You had exactly one way to get one of these, purchase a FS/CB.

So, it was included in that option. The cost was 20,000 extra dollars but it wasn’t like you had a line item veto for that. Also, it’s not like anybody else can or will (as far as we know right now) be able to buy one at a later date.

So, what exactly are we saying?

I should not have bought a foundation series cyber beast because I don’t want this light bar?

What are we talking about? Is that why you bought it? The dividers that they gave us as part of the FS/CB package in the smugglers bay are in my way and so I don’t use them. I guess, similarly, they weren’t worth the cost??? ?

If the “cost” we’re discussing is strictly aero, then I don’t know - it’s clearly negligible. It’s not a difference in range that I will ever notice. Unless you’re charging your truck to 100% I suspect that literally one minute extra of charge would negate any effects on any normal trip the lightbar might be having.

If this is a warning for potential prospective buyers, let me save you some anxiety. Fear not! Unless you’re buying a 2024 FS/CB you couldn’t buy this lightbar if you wanted to.
