I had to turn the power feed on the screen. Get out of the truck and shut the door. Then upon opening the door the software was installed. Recently I read someone updated their truck and list the lightbar option.
Yeah I’m not getting any thing on the screen for any anyway shape or form. I just looked at the little bracket on the roof and there’s a wire wrapped around it. I’m assuming they didn’t connect the wires and just snapped the connector? Did you have to solder wires or is that normal? The manual says they supposed to solder it and wire it, then the customer or third-party is supposed connect the clip in the pillar.

From what I understand the manual saying you solder the connection is from when it was first released. Tesla has stream lined the install process for owners. All I had to do was clip the connection together at the B pillar. Maybe take a picture of this wrapped wire b/c that’s not clear to me.

That’s what it’s looking like to me the more I look at it. I don’t I have a soldering iron or heat gun for shrinking the tubes or the tubes. I’ll have to figure something out.
It would probably be best to disconnect the adapter clip before they install this cause those wires could be hot 48v. That’s something I don’t want to arc and damage the computer system. That would not gonna be a good thing. The service guy said the did five of them in a row this was their first group. Not sure if they were supposed to solder and complete this part and leave just the clip or not. Little frustrating……

That sucks they didn’t solder it for you. If anything bring it back and ask them to do the soldering then you’ll hook up the connection. They kinda of F’ed you.

I also had mine recently installed. I looked under the pillar and it was already connected. It still won’t come on or update software. Did you have any problems like this?
Remember the initial way to do this was to leave it disconnected up top (not at the B pillar). So did you confirm that the connection has been made on the roof?

I looked behind the pillar it’s connected there. I have not looked on the roof except for where the cord goes into the top behind the light bar, I see that part. I don’t have the soldering tools etc.

Hard to tell what I’m looking at there but the loop is down by the first access door further back on the appliqué. So, that’s where you need to look.

That’s picture is the actual light bar where the cord comes out. The access door has the cable sticking out of it, in the picture. I’m guessing the cord is probably just not soldered and connected…..

That’s correct this is the connection that you need to make. Somebody posted a step-by-step guide and I believe that the connection guide is also in the manual on your vehicle and online.

There are various means of connecting it without actually soldering. All of my connections were done at my SC, so I don’t have any actual experience in doing it. But I know other members can take you from here.

I excused myself from work to pick up my CT.:p
I love it?
It is fully installed, functional & software updated.
The lghtbar can be turn on in 'Outlets & Mods' or for full control of its functionality, go into 'Lights' where I can choose 'Ditch Lights', Flood Lights' or both plus I can manually adjust the light intensity of both from 0-100%?
Yay! Super happy with this! Yes, it's not as bright as my aftermarket rooftop light but much more functional and minimum glare on my windshield when compared to the light glare from the aftermarket bar.
Height comparison: Tesla is 1.75in tall vs my Tesstudio's 4-Pods which is 2.5in tall.
Only down side is they had to disconnect my aftermarket Tesstudio bumper lightbar to perform the final connection. Seems like they maybe competing for the same connection harness. ?

Anyone interested in selling me their Tesla factor light

If anyone is interested in selling their Tesla Factory lightbar in excellent condition please let me know. Dave.
If they let me take it and not install it, I will sell it for sure.

Here's what the Ditch Lights (located at both ends of the bar, similar to cornering Lights) vs Flood Lights central portion) at max vs 1% light intensty. Pics pretty much self explanatory.

The light bar is illegal on public roads in NY, even when off, if not covered.

You either need to risk getting a ticket every time you drive, or it needs to be covered in some way. The way I will cover it is with blackout tape, since I don't belive there is a better solution yet (i.e. - plastic cover).

It's no different than tint tickets. In my area if your window has basically any tint at all, you'll get pulled over.
another reason I went with the Tsportline one - I got a $17 lightbar cover 'sock' from amazon and have it stashed in the truck for when I'm in places that require covers (there are LOTS of them)

edit: https://amzn.to/4iJ3IJz this one to be exact if you're curious....

I'm noticing small wind noise from right above the passener seat. I'm thinking it might be from the lighbar or the window seals.. They are going to replace the window seals on the passenger side and hope it fixes it. My wife's CB doesn't have this issue with her lightbar and wondering if anyone else notices some extra wind noise after install?
