Minor factor but if you like the lightbar, that tacks on about $2500-$3000 to add to the AWD depending on how you choose to get it.
Makes the price difference a little smaller.
Sort of like the 6 seat config in the model x vs model x plaid.

If you want to use the truck as a truck get the AWD... Towing and driving is just overall better due to how the drive units are designed and implemented. If you only want speed get the CB. Anything else just get the AWD...

Hi guys my name is John and i am new to the forum. I have an order placed from April 17th 2025 for a CB and the truck should be here soon. I need your guys imput please on the CB vs AWD as i can't really find to much info on which is better for daily driving. Let me put it this way when i placed my order i was really interested in the Free supercharging as i commute about 200 miles every other day for work some highway driving and city driving (i am involed in restate development / construction) Since i placed the order about a month ago the awd didn't have free supercharging but now it does the FS AWD and after reading a lot on here about the differences i am stuck now. Most of you are saying AWD is a better drive over the Beast. I come from a Ram TRX and that was my daily 41k miles in 1.4 years i drove it a lot. Engine went out at 38k miles (replaced under the warranty and sold the car right after) so i decided to go ev since my wife has the model y and i am liking it a lot. The discounts are great on CT right now the CB i ordered is 107k and I've been looking at AWD for $72000 with no incentives. Or should i just look at the FS AWD with all incentives. By the way i am also looking into the leasing option as i got some terrible financing rates of %10 percent. With that said let's not forget I'll be driving over the miles. Did my calculation I'll be at a $7500 in extra miles after 36 months. The money line question for me is if you guys are willing to give me your opinion is should i stick to the CB or AWD because its not enough to justify the differences. Also al most forgot to add my electrical panels are full capacity i am already charging a model y at home and going the CB route i will get that power wall with my order. What do you guys think and i want to thank you for reading my post God Bless.
I have the cyberbeast. Wish I got the AWD due to better driving dynamics, since Tesla engineers accidentally put the third motor in the front instead of the back. Also the cyberbeast motors have failed repeatedly for most consumers. This is explained in great detail in the out of spec videos on YouTube, he also regrets getting the cyberbeast even though he’s a big speed enthusiast.

AWD is a better daily driver hands down. Clunky FWD is a deal breaker for daily driving.

Go for the AWD it’s the better truck! Mechanic lockers, RWD bias, quiet and better efficiency. I wish I did ! I have the beast and it is a FWD bias and when you go over a bump under light acceleration the front wheel slips and make a huge suspension noise like if you would’ve gone over a huge pot hole, the 0-60 is nice but not worth it the front motor is super loud.

but if you a 0-60 junkie like me you can overcome the issues.

I don’t find my CB clunky at all, I need to find a AWD to test drive
Yeah, that’s the thing about these cars. they’ve been so rare that most of us have only had experience with the one that we bought.

Getting a foundation series all-wheel-drive as a loaner while my truck was in the shop was a real eye opener. I don’t have any regrets and I still would’ve gotten the FS/CB but, like I said above the AWD is much smoother, way more compliant and feels more refined overall. The beast is exactly what it claims to be, it’s kind of edgy and I’m OK with that, but there is a noticeable difference.

It’s a lot like my vet or my plaid. I could drive my Corvette around in comfort mode but I don’t. I’m always in Z mode which is the most aggressive loudest most obnoxious setting. Roughest ride, sharpest handling. Always! Same thing with my plaid I could drive in and chill mode I think, but it’s never been out of plaid mode - nor will it, not while I’m driving. ??‍♂

I want to go order a second FS cyberbeast yesterday, FS comes with free supercharging for the life of the truck. I’d also says all of those items are included and yet check them off when I make an order. As for your question on which one I drove and all-wheel-drive series and was thoroughly impressed then I drove the Cyberbeast and it changed my life. I really don’t care about range. I do care about towing. At 845 hp it really is insane. I’m not telling cross country. I go to the Boat Dock., or between my rental properties. I do charge at home so it’s not an issue. I haven’t been to a supercharger since November.. however I am relocating from Connecticut to Georgia and I still keep a business in Connecticut and I’ll be traveling back-and-forth so I am purchasing a second Cyberbeast with free lifetime charging. Seems like it’s a no-brainer to me. I just need the extra power whenever I need to hook up a trailer.. and yes a FS cyberbeast does come with all the options already included! You have to do what’s best for your wallet! I’ve seen some of the leasing options out there and you can buy it out after 30 days that I might take on the next one the first one I paid cash! Seems to get a $6000 discount. Suggestion go drive off and figure out your next five-year plan.!

having been in both, honestly, AWD. Look up Out of Spec reviews on UTUBE. They break it down really well in an incredibly long 2 hr boring video but nail it. How often are you going to launch? Honestly? how important is it to be first at every single stop light? AWD has lockers, works good and is refined. Besides, like it has been said "if you are important enough, they will wait". Besides the AWD is faster than most anything anyway.

What you are describing doesn’t sound like clunky to me, it’s sounds like comparing a ///M vs Alpina

As has been suggested above, just watch the outer spec video and you’ll learn everything you need to know. Kyle (oos host) like me, likes to go fast and is a real driving enthusiast. He’s very much keyed into suspension and has driven just about every class of car that’s out there. He breaks it down very well and accurately.

It is literally clunky. If I have a chance today I’ll drive to a spot where there is a perturbation in the road and simply record the sound you will hear an audible “clunk” and I will be jarred as if it had no suspension whatsoever. It’s super bizarre and a weird thing for Tesla not to have fixed before launching. I fully expect this to be fixed with software, and Kyle publicly offered to get together with Tesla‘s engineers to fix it.

So, it’s very real though some CB owners (like yourself apparently) have said they don’t experience it. I have no idea how that’s possible and it was a day one issue for me. As I mentioned, I got to drive the all-wheel drive over the same roads in my neighborhood and elsewhere and can assure you, it’s night and day. The AWD’s suspension is generally well mannered and compliant similar to my model S plaid.

So, simply put - no sir “clunky” is not a misnomer, it is exactly the right term to the point of it literally just being an onomatopoeia. What you’ve quoted here is me describing the overall driving experience that’s an aside from the literal “clunking” of the front end.

I am confident that they will fix this over the air so I’m not worried about it but it’s annoying right now and Kyle among others have simply decided that they’re unwilling to wait for Tesla to smooth this out in software.

We did a THOROUGHLY scientific project on that here, and we came up with 1:1 ?
I voted in that a while back, don't understand why anybody would lie on a anonymous poll? ?‍♂

I have the Beast. If you are spending that much money go all the way. I use the FSD 90% of the time. Where ever I am going it gets me there relaxed and stress free. I love giving people rides and showing off how fast beast mode is. You will never want to drive anything but your Beast ever again.
