Thanks for chiming in, FlyShacker! So sorry you felt dismissed—that's definitely not my intention.
So now you are taking a direct message, content that is generally accepted to be private, and plastered it out here in an attempt to dodge the negative criticism from someone who took the time to talk with you.

Not only did you prove him right, but you doubled down on exactly why everyone here thinks you are lurking for clickbait material to sell at the highest bid.

To any CT owner even slightly conservative on this list, I lasted 2 rounds of private posts with our “writer guest” before I was dismissed. He wants to characterize Elon Musk as “far right.” I will let you fill in the rest.
Dude....Elon already did that himself, many times over. ?‍♂

Disagree. What’s “far right” about exposing waste, fraud, and cronyism? Isn’t that just bringing the honesty to government that everyone wants? He’s a centrist. If you think Elon is “far right” you have led a sheltered life. But we are violating the rules of this forum by bringing up politics. Let’s drop it.

It's not even about politics. It's about understanding history and extrapolating with logic and critical thinking.

Fail. Absolute fail. ?

Thanks for chiming in, FlyShacker! So sorry you felt dismissed—that's definitely not my intention. Here's our conversation verbatim and in full, in case anyone is interested. I've included the questions I've been asking everyone who was kind enough to DM me, of which the last 2 are directly influenced by the conversation we've had so far on this thread. That way, anyone who wants to engage/ DM can do so knowing exactly what I'll be inquiring.

I wrote: "Thank you for replying, really appreciate your time. I'm happy to quote you with attribution, anonymously, or use what you write as background without quoting you directly, depending on what you'd prefer. Below are my questions, starting out with basic informational ones and ending with questions that have arisen as I've read through responses on the public thread. My email is [email protected], if you'd prefer to correspond that way, but replying here is great too.
Thank you again for your time!
Bob

1. How long have you had your Cybertruck?
2. What motivated you to buy it?
3. Do you like it—and if so, what do you like about it? If you have issues with the vehicle, what are they?
4. What is it like to drive it around in public—are people excited? Angry? Interested? Has anything changed over the past few months, or since you bought it? Just anything about the day-to-day of driving it around would be very interesting to hear.
5. What, if anything, makes being a Cybertruck enthusiast different from being a car or EV enthusiast more generally, or a fan of some other specific type of car?
6. Why, do you think, have people on this thread gotten so mad at the idea of a "cultural" take on the Cybertruck? Does it not deserve the attention except as yet another vehicle for sale?
7. Have you had any misgivings, even privately, about supporting Tesla in light of Elon's far-right turn? Or do you agree with those who think that a CEO's political activities should have nothing to do with purchasing/ consumer choices?"

You replied: "Well, you have said enough in your post above to convince me that you are really writing an article (or book?). But let’s get our terminology straight first. Your phrase “Elon’s far-right turn” bothers me. Who are you writing for? Please tell me what is “far right” about exposing all the fraud, abuse, and cronyism in all the hundreds of billions wasted on NGO’s, and pensions for people long dead, and hidden back room deals that make politicians millions of dollars on a salary of $200k or so?? Isn’t lack of transparency the entire problem with government? Only those who stand to lose their payoffs and under the counter gravy train should be upset. The rest of us should be cheering Elon every step of the way!! Shouldn’t we? Please answer this before we get started with your Cybertruck questions. Thanks."

To which I said: "Sorry, "far-right" is not meant pejoratively, just descriptively. Elon has aligned himself with today's GOP, becoming a de facto part of the new Trump administration. By all accounts, the GOP has moved far to the right compared to the GOP of, say, Reagan's (or even George H.W. Bush's) time. Here's a survey from Pew Research on this topic, if you're interested: https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2014/06/12/political-polarization-in-the-american-public/
Thanks again for your time!"

Your reply: "Trump brought Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr into his government. Both of them have been traditionally quite leftist, and I wouldn’t trust them outside of the narrow focus where Trump has them. Neither Reagan nor Bush ever would have brought such leftist figures into their administrations. So we cannot say “by all accounts” the GOP has moved far to the right. It’s really a different spectrum today. “Pro cronyism versus anti cronyism” strikes me as more accurate. “Pro wide open borders versus completely closed borders with only a few deliberate exceptions” also strikes me as more accurate. And “pro war versus anti war” is becoming an increasingly accurate spectrum between the two parties. The people attacking Elon are pro cronyism, which is inexplicable to me. I was born in Los Angeles, California, and lived in that state, both southern and northern, all my life until my late 60s when my wife and I couldn’t stand the decay and leftist insanity any longer. Now we live in North Idaho, which feels more like the Southern California of my youth than California has been for many decades. So, I’m sorry, I am not going to accept your characterization of Elon nor of the GOP. Not doing well so far."

Finally, I said: "Thanks for your time, and your responses! Have a great day."
YIKES Bob, outing an anonymous sources private conversation publicly... I thought that was journalism no-no's 101. Where's your journalistic integrity, oh wait we don't even know if you're a real journalist yet still.

I certainly hope after this no one else here is willing to help you.
1) you've refused to provide any references or work identifying yourself as an actual journalist.
2) stated you're non-bias but are clearly biased.
3)outed a private conversation you had with a member publicly while hiding behind a curtain yourself.
4) how have the admins not banned you. You clearly don't own a truck.
5) you are not a real journalist.

Literally everything on that list is wrong. OMFG, dumb as a rock. ?
Wow, if a meme needs to be explained, no point trying to discuss anything further. I wish you luck. Keep listening to the fake media for "safe and effective", "vaccines STOP the spread", "sharp as a tack", "fit for another term" or start evaluating facts on your terms with critical thinking. The choice is yours.

FlyShacker was having a discussion with a journalist for the purpose of publication, so there should have been no expectation of privacy.

Regardless, he surrendered any privilege when he characterized that discussion publicly.

Flyshacker summarizing a private message doesn't authorize a "journalist" to post their entire conversation verbatim lol.

Which is exactly why everyone here has been suspicious. And they were all vindicated.
