You have any pics of the difference from clear to frosted? The one youtube video I found looks like "clear" is quite hazy compared to actual clear. Maybe he didn't remove some piece of protective covering? Or is that just how the plastic is?
It’s not “crystal” clear. you’re right. That’s because it’s plastic and not glass and there are two panes. I wouldn’t photograph through it but you can definitely make stuff out through it.
Also depends on how sunny. It’s clearer the brighter it is out. It’s not perfect at all. The light color resets itself when the car powers off for example which is annoying but ultimately its more fun than not. Not super hard to remove or install either. Definitely not “pop it out for an hour” easy but if you wanted to make it seasonal its doable.
The wow factor is worth it to me.
I’ll try snap some shots to show it well.

Btw I hate to even touch front windshield for any reason. It’s stupidly hard to clean. So suction cups uh uh no for me
I bought a swiffer with one section of length removed. Attach a microfiber cloth to it and you can reach the whole windshield. I had one of those windshield cleaning tools (essentially a small swiffer), but couldn't reach the bottom windshield with it without straining. Swiffer did the trick.

I tried one and didn’t like it at all. Very unwieldy and difficult to use. Currently rocking the 4 panel sunshade in 2 sets. First set up top, suction cups, then bottom set and push against top. Takes 5 minutes or so though.
I bought the 4 panel you're referring to and returned it as it was way to cumbersome to use and setup. The suction cups wouldn't really stay so it would sag like crazy.
I ended up going with a vertical 2 panel which was much easier to manage and setup without getting out of my car. The support rods were much thinner which also made folding it a breeze. The best part of the 2 panel was that there was no sag. Here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DS25P6RN?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

If I can add a caveat to “no regrets” , that’s absolutely true because the power shade thing with the surrounding LED didn’t exist when I bought the starlight but if I were buying today, that product looks pretty damn cool for less money to me and I’d probably end up with that.
I have not seen it in person.though and it may just be a “grass is greener” mindset. I don’t know.
I have however seen the install instructions for that one too and it uses the frunk power feed so you also have to consider whether you’re using that for something else or intend to in the future.

Agree with all that. There are also many tints that have amazing thermal properties without being dark.
I had all windows, including the roof and front, tinted and while it's definitely still warm when we get in after being parked in full TX sun, it's nowhere close to what it would be absent the tinting. Front tint took awhile to get used to since it creates a bit of a star effect and some tail light doubling when dark out. Noticeable, but not to the point of being a dangerous distraction and decreasingly noticeable as I've adjusted to them. The tint doesn't impeded visibility at night.

Even with the roof tint, I'm definitely going to look into @hemiarch's limo vibe ceiling shade/light show.

I have an umbrella shade but due to the few extra seconds (!!) fair to say it gets used less. But the shade at the top of this thread leaves the front dash open to sun damage, fading, and heat for the whole vehicle.

In addition to the original post just lay 2 individual shades over the forward dash then pop in the 2 vertical shades. 4 pieces in all but It works very well.

If we're now talking about three or four shades to set up and take down I would recommend the umbrella.

I get ya, sounds complicated but honestly the four shades deploy and stow as easy as 2 ever did. I’ll have to look into the umbrella. In 2024 when I bought my CT I didn’t see umbrellas in the CT size. All the made for CT shades at the time were just big, some depended on suction cups and they were a pain in the ass to setup, take down and store.

I have been thinking about getting a Swiffer to clean the inside. About the right length. Should work ok.

I have tried everything. Couldn’t find an easy enough way due to the reachability. I ll be trying some magnets from outside as a last resort

It’s never come undone. And I tuck them between my seat and center console when not in use. Easy peasy. I’ll attach the best pic I have since I’m out of town.

nice wrap btw - not sure if you answered this already, but which size or combination of shades did you end up getting for your windshield? Is there a particular brand that you’d recommend?

Well in small print on the Amazon website it reads, "
Frequently returned item

So if you purchased and use this please enlighten us.

I'm thinking of getting the retractable roof shade (my BEAST came with the Tesla shade), and would be interested in a similar one for the windshield.
Tesla Cybertruck Sunshade? This is the way. IMG_7321

it covers most of the dash and reflects heat enough for NJ at least

Mine has a little Rubber Bumper on the shaft to not do that.
No, it's the cloth part of the dashboard it gets. The metal hinges does it. The black part is the front cover.

I’m using 2 sizes M 28x31 visor to dash and L 32x36 for the forward dash. It would also work just fine using only the L size if you prefer not to have 2 sizes.

Thanks on the wrap compliment, very happy with the way it turned out!
