To the point, what tips can you providing to convincing the wife to approve a couple's acquisition of a Cybertruck?
She's been in one, but not driven yet, says "its ok"
Help is appreciated
As an old lady myself, I placed my reservation the night it was announced. My dear husband was disappointed that I’d go for something that ugly for his taste, he’s a Jeep guy. Ever since I got my CT, he beats me to the passenger seat since he’s not allowed to drive my Teslas. He’s thinking about getting one for himself so just buy it and let her drive around with it and she’ll change her mind fast.

Reasons I like my Cybertruck - answered questions
As an engineer, I’m more than happy to accept the compromises and innovations of the cybertruck- 48V and ethernet low voltage architecture, super strong body & glass, adjustable ground clearance, torque vectoring & 4 wheel steering, 11Kw of off board power, huge trunk with bed liner & cover, crazy acceleration and towing, 800V battery, steer by wire and no paint. A very comfortable ride on long trips. My wife likes the truck for it’s utility in her scuba business.

1. purchased 8/2024 cybertruck foundation series, gray interior and basic all season tires and Core wheels for higher mileage.

2. Technical advances. 48V low voltage system, drive by wire steering, stainless steel exterior, 4 wheel steering, auto tonneau cover, 6 ft. bed, lots of storage, 220V & 120V outlets, Home power backup capability, adjustable suspension, full self driving, higher efficiency than other electric trucks.

3. Best overall truck I have ever owned. I have owned two F150 platinums, one 3/4 ton Dodge diesel, one GM 3500 longbed, 4WD, and a couple of El Caminos. The only issue I have is range. I was hoping the range extender battery was going to be produced. My wife owns a shooting range and SCUBA diving business. We drive 156 miles round trip to Lake Pleasant in Arizona. We can do the round trip on an 80% charge with about 20% left when we get home. This includes the back full of tanks and gear as well as the frunk full of gear. If we take our enclosed trailer, I need to charge to 95-100% and we need to stop in Scottsdale and charge for 8-10 minutes, which isn't all that painful unless I have to disconnect the trailer due to limited room/access.

4. Some people are excited and interested in hearing about the vehicle. Other people think it is the ugliest thing on earth. I believe attitudes would change if Elon would avoid politics and if people actually drove the vehicle. Everyone that has driven ours wants one. It handles like a sedan in parking lots and driving on side streets.

We wish it had massage seats for my wife's back. It is very comfortable to drive around town and across country. I have made a 2,000 mile round trip from Phoenix to San Antonio. It would be nice to have more range, but my body appreciates getting out and moving every couple of hours. Charging is acceptable. Averaged about 20-30 minutes/charge which is fine for a bathroom break, and snack break. The Tesla Supercharger network is the best! I've owned a Nissan Leaf, Kia Niro and currently own a model Y along with the cybertruck. The Model Y charges quicker and uses less energy due to less weight and smaller battery.

5. My wife and I have always been car/truck enthusiasts. The cybertruck just has capability and technology that is ahead of it's time compared to other vehicles. I especially enjoy being able to charge in my garage and not have to go to a gas station. I have literally save over $1,500 in fuel/energy costs over my F150 since purchasing the Cybertruck. It's only limitation is hauling long distances.

6. As stated previously, I believe some people have been burned. I have had people tell me they thought the vehicle was ridiculous looking and it wasn't a real truck. I've smiled and said, it works great for me. I had a guy drive by while I was charging. He asked if he could put something in my microwave(Truck). I told him no, it is a refrigerator :) He thought that was pretty funny.

7. Elon is a brilliant individual. He is autistic which I feel has affected his communication skills and sometimes his displayed attitude. I feel Tesla has been negatively affected by his involvement in politics. Tesla would be better off if Elon stuck to what he does best - innovate, think out of the box, and bring great products and capabilities to people that benefit humanity and our planet.

I feel it is utterly ridiculous for a person to base their purchase of a product based on the behavior of a Company CEO. Do they not care about the 10's of thousands of employees and millions of customers they are harming? The products Elon and his teams have created have proven extremely beneficial to people and our planet.

If you live in a Hurricane evacuation zone, both vehicles need to be electric period, end of story! If the power goes out you will not be able to get gas. So the argument of I feel safer with both gas and electric does not hold up. Before the hurricane gas at stations will be in demand and short supply. You will have long lines. Gas may not be available along your evacuation route and then you are stranded. if you are evacuating chances are you will be in stop and go traffic you both will be much more comfortable in your air conditioned Teslas than having to stop and restart your gas "wannabe" truck.

People may think the CT is an expensive overly extravagant un needed vehicle, vs. the the "wanna be" truck that just sits there for weeks at a time lacking the capacity to do what you really want. Just ask them how much they spent on their 20 foot fishing boat and their expensive gas truck they had to get to haul it around.

you can power your house through those outages and not have to drag out the heavy as hell generator and hook it up to your big ass propane tank that has to be refilled.

you can drive her on the beach when she wants to go..

your "wannabe" truck just sits there because you've gotten use to autopilot and self driving.
