Hey! Just put my order in and am waiting! (0% APR FTW!)

does anyone have any recs for window tinters in the Main Line?
I see that the min allowable VLT is 70% in PA…which doesn’t do much for privacy but does a lot for heat rejection. Is that correct? I’m planning on doing all the windows and windshield.

FYI- there is a cybertruck meetup at 10:30 am today at ACAP Films of the main line. Demonstrations raffles donuts coffee. Come by with your new whip!

Even if you don’t have yours, just come and meet other owners

Ah ok great! I’m unforunately working today but this is the 2nd mention of ACAP to me so I’ll take that as the sign that I’ve been looking for!

went to ACAP. got 70 on the windshield, 20 on the front windows and 70 on the rear windows. they said that it would take 5 hours, and it only took 2.5! they knocked off 100 for not getting the vault window done.

I asked if I needed the sunroof done and they said no, since there is already a coating in the sunroof, instead of trying to upsell me on that huge piece of tint.

I got a discount with putting a deposit in as well! when I priced out a full tint and a full wrap, they were going to knock off the price of the windshield (about 1200), but total wrap was pricey, and I actually really like the stainless steel.

the heat rejection makes a huge difference.

great shop, would definitely recommend!

I also went through xpel Tesla. I
I went through the Tesla Xpel referral service for mine. A bit more expensive than just finding an Xpel dealer installer near me but was quick and easy to get done.

We went through XPel with XR+ material. as well. We thought price fair. I did both sides and swapped rear window for two 6” eyebrows as the visor does a poor job of blocking up top. 5% was used here so it blocks well.

We measured 24% vlt on rear windows and did 20% on the fronts. On rears they added a 70% over so it has improved thermal protection. The car is much cooler.

Note:
Front windows - XR+, Shade: 20%
Rear windows - XR+, Shade: 70%
Front Windshield Eyebrow CS Black, Shade: 5%

All for $705. Very happy.
