I had seen on these forums that they had a new part which addressing phones overheating on the charging pad. I had setup an appointment which first started as a mobile service but then changed to an in person 5 day event where Tesla swapped my HV battery in my 2024 AWD Cybertruck.

I'm not complaining about getting a new HV battery (though I would like to know how I can confirm this and not just take their word) but the circumstances are strange. Nothing was wrong with my cybertruck. Range was fine and charging seemed fine.

When I spoke with Tesla they had said the reasoning for the HV battery swap was an engineering research initiative. I'm still confused as to what this could have been and I'm worried it may have been related to this:

Have others had this happen to them as well? Attached is a photo of the work order.

When I took delivery of my CyberTruck back in April of 2024, I received notice that Tesla was canceling my #VIN which was in Franklin, Tennessee ready for delivery. At that time, I was delayed from actually getting it because of the "throttle pedal" sticking issue. So, it was at the Tesla store for about 2 weeks before I was allowed to pick it up. During that time, I get the notice, "Tesla is canceling your #VIN and a new CyberTruck is being sent in its place." It was related to the HV battery issue. I got really pissy because of the extra 2 weeks I was having to wait and CyberTruck fever was high at that time. Apparently, Tesla techs went through the batch of CyberTrucks that had been delivered to the Franklin, Tennessee store and determined my #VIN did not suffer from the issue and I was allowed to go get it afterall without having to wait on a new #VIN CyberTruck to be delivered from Austin, Texas. On a recent visit to have "recall work" and tire rotation this past May, a "flex cable" was replaced related to the HV battery. Not scheduled, not a daily driving issue, just a *pro-active* repair I didn't expect.

I would look at it as a good thing. I understand where your coming from but, Tesla is trying to make our CyberTrucks as reliable and bullet-proof as possible.

The majority of the time these engineering studies are done, is when they have found a potential issue in a run and they want to see how extensive the issue is. The Cybertruck has had a number of these ranging from basically nothing to legit issues. Worth keeping an eye on, but at the same point nothing to be concerned with, especially with you getting a new battery pack (which could likely be confirmed by checking the part number as it will likely have a new revision).

I just (yesterday) took mine in for overheating Charger. They ran a test on it and found it was bad. They replaced it , said all other test shows everything else was within normal functions. Hope the battery does not give me issues. Bought my Ct in early Oct 2024. Vin in 39000 range.. 2 weeks ago they replaced the Contrails and installed the extra slate on the tonneau cover.
