Leaking in the bed …..

Hi all has anybody went in for service for a leaking bed the cover does an ok job but the back left and right corners get pretty wet

Has anyone else experienced this?

Can Tesla address this?

I had the same problem and just accepted it as the inability to seal it completely. THEN I saw another member's post about extra weather stripping he got from Amazon. I got some and it worked. I've driven through some pretty good storms and it is now 99% dry. (The 1% is where the tonneau meets the tailgate.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZXGRYS9?ref=fed_asin_title&th=1
I added a strip to overlap the opening on the back of the roof, too!

Just keep going in until they get it right. I had the same problem but a little more severe. Mine was actually coming into the truck too and they ended up having to replace a lot of parts. It took them five times to get it right. Water still comes into the bed of the truck but very little! Good luck!

Old, old topic. It's a truck. It is not totally water-proof in the bed. If this is our worst issue with the CT, we are doing great.

I am in for my fourth time regarding the vault and each time the water ingress gets worse. I took it in this time because I could not easily lift the applique out. I was 100% correct that someone ran gooey butyl tape instead of a seal and it stuck to my applique so when I pulled it off It would tear apart and never seal. That is why I made the mechanic do it in front of me. This is my last time before I give up and do the DYI Amazon rubber seal. I just wanted them to remove all that crap they tried to pass off as a solution. Here is a response I got on an update. There is a new matt finish applique trim right before the glass meets the tonneau as a precaution we are replacing in case that seal is compromised and a foam insert that is installed between the two will also be installed. My first thoughts was OMG no more of that crappy foam. Once they are through it I will take photos. I attached a photo right after the mechanic removed my applique and had to pull it away from the damn goo. I am sorry for the out of focus, but I wanted to be quick as I had other things to go over like my suspension failing for the third time.

BTW, that water in the additional Pic from a standard rainfall is not acceptable. That was partially dried after 8 hours or so.

Keep taking it back to service, eventually they will get tired of it and install the extra slat and proper gasket to get it water tight.

I have the same issue, with the missing slat. I bought the seal from another post on here to fix the slat issue. But while testing the Seal between the window and the trim, I noticed a lot of water getting through there. I put a thin bead of silicone between the window and the trim. And it is complete water proof now. Drove through a hard down poor and everything but the bit by the tail gate was dry.

Keep taking it back to service, eventually they will get tired of it and install the extra slat and proper gasket to get it water tight.

They installed a slat on the 2 or 3rd appointment. It was odd because mine did not look like it was missing one like my friend's was. Hopefully, the seal they are talking about is the proper one. I keep reading the post by 1 or 2 people showing a new applique and a rubber seal.

Wow, can you still remove you applique or is it siliconed down? I need to be able to take mine on and off as intended. Pics would be nice.

My primary center is quoting the line that it was never intended to be waterproof. It was fortunate that some idiot tried to glue my applique down at the service center. Now I had one more reason to go over it again.

Can't blame them but a "vault" is not something that is typically associated with something that gets a ton of water in it.

This is going to be one of those things that EVENTUALLY gets a voluntary service center fix, like the half a dozen other things they fixed later on.

Adding the extra slat fixed 100% of my water issues at the front of the vault. The back, near the tailgate clearly has a drain slot opening in the bed, so as others have said, it's mean't to get wet.

That just did that for me. Went on a road trip, our luggage was soaked and the truck bed liner is full of pooled water. Bought this thing so I could store lots of luggage in a secure space that seemed at least water resistant.

Two fixes ago my luggage hard soft case, pretty difficult to get wet had 3/4 of the clothes soaked inside. That is not acceptable. I know they can fix this and I am not sure why they won't do the right thing the first time.
