Cybertruck’s foam-filled journey and learn the essentials of using Tesla's Car Wash Mode

In 2017, I was a Tesla employee and bought one of the first 300 Model 3s ever made. After a few days and talking to this car wash manager, I opened an internal ticket for the Model 3 team that contributed to what is today "Car Wash Mode", cool!

Also, we decided not to do a wrap on the Cybertruck, we like the stainless steel look. We found something that helped a lot with fingerprints and allowed us to take the Cybertruck to the this hand carwash weekly, without issues for over a year. It's called "ProtectaClear" and you can get the details here https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...ctaclear-no-fingerprints-for-weeks-now.13295/

This was on a Tesla Cybertruck on AI4 in San Carlos, California. The music is "Steve McQueen" by Sheryl Crow. Thank you to the workers at this car wash, who always do an awesome job.

We did 2 coats of ProtectaClear and it’s been amazing! Had some issues with the application but we worked through them.
Yeah it’s awesome, it’s been a year and half since our first application and it’s holding up really well with pretty much weekly car washes.

There’s are a couple of spots that need a refresh, we’re going to re-apply soon.

I've had my ProtectaClear on the truck for one year! Overall, I am happy I did it, and it does keep the truck fingerprint free. It is however finally starting to flake off in a few places and looks weird. There are 2-3 very visible spots on the truck where the coating has just sort of flaked off, leaving quarter sized exposed spots of steel. I was over the top meticulous about proper application, so I really don't think the problem is related to that. I think it just does not really last forever.

I may just get the truck mirror polished soon, to fully remove the flaking ProtectaClear and give me a shiny new look.
