But but but… my departure angle!

Works great, I do not know about compatibility with CT though

From experience with power charger cables… you’ll be parking sideways for sure… you’ll be popular at SC stations

Consulting the brilliant CT minds here.
Need extra storage during road trips and have always wanted this system:

https://yakima.com/collections/exo?srsltid=AfmBOoqjsLSd8eek3Uw03w5IuzgTxPZ3W5bduCun7eilNrlQMwlTjW0C

Questions:

- anyone have these for their CTs?
- read into the vertical tongue weight. Will this system hold, hardware (roughly 160lbs) plus load weight of items?
- Once on, will charging cords be long enough to charge at superchargers?

Appreciate your inputs!
looks like its less than the width of the truck. some chargers are arranged so that your boxes will fit in between the chargers.

Doesn’t the name “swingbase” imply you could “swing” it out to back into a supercharger?
Not super familiar with how it works.

I own the yakima swing base. Bought it for our Expedition last year. Used on the cybertruck this year on our family trip. I pulled in sideways to the chargers and it worked, but I was lucky there were almost no other cars there. Around my area most charging stations also have the one charger at the end that is mounted sideways towards the front of the parking spot that you can pull straight into. (hope that makes sense). I used that charger on my stops and it worked great. Just pulled in with the front of the truck first and the charger lined up on the left side.
I would also mention that I believe the wire rack will fit under the tailgate when you put the tailgate down, if I remember correctly. I believe it came close to touching, but you can swing it open and out of the way of the tailgate as well to put the tailgate down if you have both levels on it. Worked great for me. This is the only image I took with it on the truck. It folds down nicely and protects the bumper while the tailgate is fully usable. We put mostly light weight things in the totes and the top box, but it was handy.

Thanks for this!!
Absolutely no issues with the vertical load limit when you had it fully loaded and driving? That's my biggest concern. I have a wife that likes to overpack during road trips!

That looks very cool. Where does the “swing” part come in? Can it be opened outwards away from the tailgate?

This should help. We loaded light stuff in the Yakima. Heavy towards front of the bed. So no load issues for us. The suspension seemed to handle it much better than my raptor.
the swing is in the photos. This should help it make sense. Tailgate can be opened when the Yakima is swung open. Both levels.

With just the bottom on you can open the tailgate but it does rub slightly when you put weight on the tailgate. Didn’t damage the truck though in any way. Hopefully the pictures help. I swung open the Yakima when I loaded and unloaded the truck bed. Works really well. Also recommend the wheel kit if you are going to carry a lot of gear around. Works great as a cart and it comes off the mount in seconds. Very slick system.

Thanks! I always wonder if my posts are helpful. I appreciate that.
They are always helpful.
Thank you for your service sir.

So…could you swing it out like that fairly easily and then back into a supercharger so the box is between chargers?

I honestly never tried that but if you lined it up right then there is no reason you couldn’t swing it open to charge. You might need to be on the end charger though. If you were in one of the middle chargers it would be pretty tedious to fit it in between. If you are careful though I think it could be done.
