I didn’t know police departments could just accept donations from private citizens like that.
I guess there really isn’t a rule against it. Just surprises me a bit
Yeah, lots of parks are made that way; it's how California staffs its parks with guides and takes parking fees. Lots of kids' stuff is run by volunteer coaches. Donating to your town is a classic move to get a positive public image.

In an optimal world, we'd pay people to do stuff, but also that money has to come from somewhere. And people with money are famous for not wanting to let others choose how it's spent.

Sometimes if you want something done, you just have to do it (or pay for it) yourself.

I wonder what this is? It seems like there’s one on each side is it just a stalk for additional lights or does it have other purposes?

These are spotlights with remote controls inside. The old style traditional spotlights don't work well for the placement on the CT and drilling through the A Pillar would be bad on the CT.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I don't see any antennas sticking out of it.

Maybe it’s not THAT kind of police car. More for attending the state fare, cruising the strip and driving the chief of police and such around.

I remember when this donation was 1st announced. These Police Cybertrucks are meant for community engagement, PR, and cruising up and down the strip in style. They are not meant to be pursuit vehicles.
