Looks like a Cybertruck was hit head on by a wrong way BMW on I-10. The crash scene looks horrendous and unsurvivable. The CT was NOT the vehicle on fire either! The driver of the CT is listed as in critical condition and at the hospital.

Looking at the photo, if one has to be in a crash, the CT would be my choice.

I know we have a lot of posters from the Houston area, praying for the driver's recovery.

I think they got some facts wrong in the article. There was a vehicle fire. I thought EVs always caught on fire in accidents, but the article mistakenly says the BMW caught on fire. I didn't think gas cars caught on fire. I feel I've been told lies by the media. Say it ain't so!

Do you have a link to the article? That link now goes to a news YouTube feed and I can’t find any reference to the crash.

Hummmm, the link brings up the news article for me (it is a print article), from KHOU.

Fiery I-10 crash leaves one dead after wrong-way collision near downtown Houston | khou.com

If you look on the interweb (I recommend duckduckgo.com), there are at least three news stations with an article about the crash, all have the same basic information. Maybe a Houston area poster can get more information.

... I'm not callous. I hope for a speedy recovery for the injured and healing for the family/friends of all involved.
It's always socially acceptable to mock BMW

Holy crap.. I have to say, even though the front end is completely gone, the cabin is still in one piece which is the most important thing. The door was probably ripped off by the fire dept. If the driver walks away from this it's a testament to this vehicle. Head on collision and then hit by an 18 wheeler. Hope he pulls through.

I see burn spots on the pavement on the side road quite frequently. Gasoline is flammable. There’s a higher probability of your gasoline car catching on fire than your electric vehicle.

Yup. That's why I made the obviously intended to be funny post. It's sort of like headlines:

"Vehicle in crash" or "Tesla in crash". They always call out Tesla.

They do the same with EVs. There are a LOT more ICE vehicles and the average age of them is much older than that of EVs.

It would be interesting to see the number of EVs per 100,000 registered since 2020 that have caught fire vs. the same timeline of ICE vehicles per 100,000 registered.

It's kind of unfair to compare cars from the 80's, 90's and today to EVs from just the last 10 years or so.
