I think anything other than AWD grey and core wheels is going to take longer. Maybe I’m wrong

I stopped in at the Sarasota Tesla Store yesterday to ask what's up with my order and the SA who was there got a higher up to talk with me and after looking in his computer for a while he said the white interior could be an issue because they build all regular models first and then build the options. He said he would have my SA contact TESLA HQ in the AM and call me.

This morning they called and said if I give up the white I can have a CB that is currently in another location close to here. If I want the white I'm looking at early to mid December.

Based on the conversation yesterday that tells me they aren't building anything at the moment.

I don’t understand why Tesla can’t just give us an accurate delivery date when we configure, it’s pretty annoying.

In the SF/Bay Area, I ordered a Cybertruck AWD on the 21st. It shows a 3-5 week wait time. Wondering if this will keep slipping, or will they actually deliver within the timeframe. Also, what are the latest VINs being delivered? Are they starting 2026 models yet, or not until late December?

Why would you assume the production line isn't running based on that?

What you described, a 5 to 6 week wait for an out of stock configuration, is caused by normal production batching and happens regularly. They don't get your order and tell the line workers to make one with a white interior, that's inefficient. You are in Florida, it can take that long just to get to you depending upon how the various transport legs work out.

The only production pause I'm aware of happened back in June for line maintenance.

Tesla sales have accelerated in recent weeks and inventory at the end of Q3 was drawn down to the lowest level of inventory/vehicles in transit since the heady sales days of 2022. If I recall from the quarterly report, they only had 10 days of sales supply in inventory/transit. This includes vehicles customers are waiting for delivery on, but not actually delivered. No other automaker achieves levels of inventory this low, even in the periods when demand is high and inventory is low.

Your annoyance is understandable, but the production/shipping/delivery logistics are complex and subject to significant uncertainties such that no exact date is possible in most scenarios. If you want certainty, you can buy a new F-150 off the lot, many of which have been sitting there unsold (including 2024 models). If you are willing to buy a demo or are not too particular with the exact colors/wheels, etc. you might be able to buy one directly off the lot at Tesla too. But that's much less common than with the other OEMs.

The reason I said I think they have paused production is because they said they looked at what's coming and nothing with white and Core wheels is coming. They have CB with White interior locally (Tampa) but it has Cyber Wheels. For the price they want for Cyber Wheels I could buy new wheels and tires and bank some cash. It's almost like they pre-purchased a ton of Cyber Wheels because if you leased they were giving them free.

Remember when I ordered 9/19 it was saying 3-5 weeks and when I look at my order in the app it still says nothing at all (no VIN) other than ordered 9/19. If they can't deliver in 3-5 weeks they should not say they can on the website order screen. I think it still says 3-5 weeks if you try to order now.

How many weeks or what date did you place the order ? Mine was about 2 weeks ago so I am guessing it wont be until Dec. for me.

Ordered 9/30 so entering week 5

Wow, I hope you get yours soon. It sounds like they're making it in large batches, so hopefully soon. And you are in TX, so one would think you would get yours sooner.
