Just got allocated a 2026 that arrives next week. I’m in a dilemma because I just picked up a used 2025 Beast with 1k miles and the luxe package for almost the same price. Trying to figure out what to do with this order as I am locked into the $7500 tax rebate, $1k military and $1k loyalty discount.

Should I buy and then resell brand new?

I would go with the luxe package if it was me. 1k miles is nothing. Can you be assured that if you buy the one on order,it can be resold for the same price? Since it’s just a basic awd, could be a money losing proposition.

No because it will lose its free supercharging. If I understand what you’re asking correctly.
That is worth way more money than anyone on here acknowledges.

A ‘25 Beast w/ Luxe is the same price as a ‘26 AWD? That’s the hugest no brainer of all time. Get the Beast. It’s bonkers fast and has FSD and free charging. I’m frankly shocked there’s any question in your mind.

That is kind of why I wasn’t sure I understood the question.
Bonkers indeed.

I’m not positive I understood the question right but that’s how I interpreted what I read. I fully expect to be corrected because there’s no way anyone would have any reservation about that choice. Unless that latest model year is important to the OP. Come 2027, he’ll be kicking himself hard if he chooses wrong.

For clarification, I already purchased a used 2025 Beast with the Luxe package. Unfortunately I did lose the free supercharging and data but everything else kept as is. Put Duratracs on it today and have tint, PPF and full plastic wrap by abstract ocean planned for this upcoming week.

The main purpose of the post was just to let everyone know 2026s are hitting lots now. Tesla bought back my 2024 AWD FS this week so I needed a new truck. I was in the process of requesting the buyback when 1 October hit, so I placed an order for a normal AWD CT just in case they bought it back I could qualify for the rebates. I stumbled across the beast last week and it was a no brainer to buy that instead.

Now essentially I have this AWD 2026 CT pending delivery next week. Trying to figure out if I should buy it also and sell for a few thousand under MSRP so I can help someone out with a cheaper brand new 2026 AWD and maybe make a few bucks. Or do I just let it go and lose my $250 deposit. 🧐

Interesting, wondering if the 2026 has new battery chemistry and hardware updates.

Tesla is more “era-based” than “year model-based.” All auto makers are to some degree, but Tesla seems to be more so in their own way. All CTs up to this point are essentially the same thing. ‘24-‘26 will have extremely few differences. Only reason this question should be considered is if the ‘26s came with AI5, which they don’t. Not yet at least.

Ahh okay that makes more sense. Are you getting the new AWD discounted? Or you just saying you got the tax credit with it so essentially $72,500? Otherwise I don’t see how you make anything selling it under MSRP.

For those wondering, I had a 2024 FS AWD CT with a low 7k vin, my new beast is 2025 June build and has a VIN right around 78k.

There are some very small differences I’ve noticed and may do a write up on if I get the chance.

- Huuuge improvement on build quality
- The weather stripping on the tonneau is different and has a different texture to it.
- Much quieter although still has the engine wine I don’t nearly hear in our model 3
- Seems to be a bit more efficient although hard to tell since I had different models to compare.
- No panel gaps/vibrations/rattling doors/etc

A few other things as well. I asked Grok what changes have been made and it spit out a list of things. I’ll see if I can dig up and share.

Also, the lifetime premium connectivity goes away too?
