Getting some various levels of brake stabbing today at intersections. Was pretty smooth before. Guess it's having a bad day!
I never experienced brake stabbing prior to FSD 14. I have had it a few times now.

The single worst part and bane of FSD is not the FSD part, it’s the craptacular navigation that leads FSD into garbage situations.

Lane navigation is pure garbage compared to apple car play.

Worse, after how many years, why do we not have the ability to create a “my route” to a place. Google Maps lets you plot a point and tap it to create additional waypoints to “rubberband” a custom route. Why can’t we at least do this to teach it better routes, and if enough people submit problems/custom routes, the entire system can learn.

Also how the hell do we not have the ability to submit, via voice ala CarPlay, things like traffic, potholes, hazards, and cops—grok report a speed trap, grok report a pothole in the right most lane, grok report a stopped car on the right shoulder, grok report heavy traffic, etc. The pothole feedback could be used to save everyone else on the system a lot of grief And help train the system to spot potholes better.

Bottom line is FSD is a pretty good driver, but it gets sent into idiot navigation boondoggles that even the best divers would fail under.

Tesla desperately needs to upgrade its crap quality navigation system as it’s holding back FSD by a lot. /rant
I create my route in google maps for upcoming road trips and then "Share with Tesla". It takes my route. I could swear you could press the microphone button and say "Report obstruction" or the like... Maybe I'm off my rocker there.

Absolute best version of CT FSD yet.

Uniquely dissimilar to previous versions.

Drives better than me at night, avoids obstacles in the road, like roadkill or branches, brakes early for perceived dangers like suicidal deer - which it never reacted to in the past!

Mad Max mode is aggressive and will go significantly over the posted speed limit.

I don’t like not having the ability to find tune maximum speed. This is my biggest gripe thus far.

With 14.1.7 I've been getting a lot of indecision when I need to be in a left turn lane and it goes back and forth. It also gets spooked a lot by leaves and pedestrians

I agree, maybe this is mostly location specific but prior FSD was still impressive but this is on another level.....on mad max in NJ at least it drives like I drive and very smooth, only maybe 2 minor issues since last week, otherwise it is perfect.

That doesn't seem to work for me the way I would like. I can only drag the route to different points on the computer. But if I save the link to that route and send it to my phone it ignores the exact route choice.

Th parking selection feature is opaque. Saw the menu of parking choices 2 times, but have no idea how to implement it. How do I call up? When in my trip? Garage parking seems to work as before the upgrade. Can anyone help?

(I'm experiencing stuttering start ups, corner-turning indecision rarely, present with earlier version).

When you get near to destination on right side of screen it will say "driveway" or "parking lot" etc. If you push on that it will bring up the speed profiles and parking choices in a rectangular box and you can change your choice.

After using v14 this week for a little over 700 miles, I got to say it’s pretty rough around the edges and disappointing. Granted this could be an issue with my Cybertruck, since many have said it’s been amazing for them. But for me this feels closer to v12 on my model 3 did.

I had well over a dozen road hazard avoidance maneuvers for absolutely nothing on the highway. There were occasionally dark spots from potholes filled in that it was concerned about, but most of them had nothing identifiable on the road. The swerving / avoiding was always done in a safe manner, but it still scared the shit out of me at 3 in the morning half way through a five hour drive home. This never happened to me with nearly 30k miles of FSD v13 before.

Although that’s annoying, I can live with it while Tesla tinkers and updates the software. But the other issue I had a lot was it being indecisive when switching lanes in moderate freeway traffic. Many times it would start to move from the middle lane over to the fast lane, freak out the go back to the middle lane as if there was a car in the trucks blind spot that it didn’t see and almost hit. But in reality the other car would be 3-4 car lengths behind us and the truck had more than enough room to safely proceed.

This happened enough times over the weekend that I decided to stop at a rest area and tried resetting the DAS and recalibrating the cameras to see if there was something going on there. But it made no difference. Cameras were spotless too.

Another area the truck has become more indecisive about is at four way stop signs and when turning right on red at intersections. Often it would start moving then stab the brakes half way through the intersection or stop sign and then slowly proceed. This happens in both busy traffic and in absolutely empty intersections in broad day light and is pretty embarrassing when there are people are around to see it.

Lastly the issue that is mostly just annoying is the speed profiles in rural backroads. It ignores posted speed limits, etc just like it did for me on v13. This is nothing new, but when I had the option to set the speed in those areas it was better than nothing. With the set profiles it’s hard to find a happy medium in many of these situations… sometimes it wants to do 45-50 in a school zone with actual children present. Then other times it only wants to do 35 mph on a 55 mph road.

Switching through the profiles as these situations come up works sometimes… but then then sometimes when you just want it to slow down like 10 mph or so, you switch it from hurry down to standard and the truck just keeps keeps going the same speed.. so you drop it down to chill, then it drops 15-20 mph down, when you really just wanted it to drop 10 or so. It’s just obnoxious.

I know Tesla will fix all of these issues with some updates, this really feels like they rushed out FSD v14 to the cybertruck before it was ready. But your results may vary.

On a positive note, the lane centering has been fantastic. No more riding the line, etc. So there’s that.

I feel like V14 is stopping way too much unnecessarily when it should just go. When its yellow light and it’s on the crosswalk, I push the pedal to go. When a car on my right comes to the parking lot driveway and is waiting to go into the street fsd 14 stops and I have to push the pedal. V13 would have just went through. First time I felt brake stabbing with fsd 14. Also it makes turn sigal changes to merging lanes so I have to take over. FSD 13 was smarter and knew not to change lanes yet. It’s like a stupid teenager compared to the wise grandpa that was v13.

There are many things that will need a vast improvement before we achieve full self drive. Like stated above the one thing I see that is much improved is lane centering, but I had just come from a service appointment where they had cleaned the camera so that might be part of it also. I have only done two drives with a new version of the software and what I found was one decision the car made really impressed me it started to pass a car to the left and when it was halfway into the lane, a car came from behind and tried to pass me while I was passing. The truck realized what was going on and got back in the lane and let him go through then passed. I have to agree the speed settings are troubling. As the system sets now I will probably only be using full self drive supervised in half of my driving.

14.1.7 on the CT is actually better than 14.1.4 on the Model S and according to Chuck on the Model Y as well.

Fall leaves blowing across a road when driving 25-35 mph is... interesting.

Winter should be fun too.

FSD unsupervised sounds nice but covering all situations seems impossible with the current hardware suite.
