Looks great and probably way cheaper than even the one above. I thought about doing somthing like this but I imagine it takes at least a solid 20-30 min to snap everything together and tie up the straps along the wheel well?

What I love about this design above is the clamshell 30 second setup. Super clutch.

takes me about 5 minutes to setup in the dark. I setup, put mattress in then drop tent onto mattress. only need to put in 4 poles and place straps. straps are only needed if it is very windy.

Do you have a link to this particular model? I'd be interested in taking a look at it if so. Thanks

it is not perfect fit so I rest the poles on the tie downs on bed sides.
Joytutus also makes a custom fit CT tent you can get from Amazon. I made a YouTube video featuring it. it takes about 20ish minutes to setup though. I like the setup from Aggietruck2002 a lot more and I'm in the process of buying the mount now. The tent should be here next week.

lot of stuff to attach with that tent compared to mine. seems over complicated for a tent.

Thanks for sharing this video. I almost bit the bullet and bought this tent when it first came out. Figured I'd wait for some reviews to pour in and from what I saw, lots of complaints on the complicated setup and flimsy poles. Great video either way.

Think im going with the clamshell design though.

I have been trying to come up with a good truck bed tent set up for the Cybertruck for a while now. I was not interested in the Cyber tent, due to both cost and the tedious set up.

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a tent then “fabricated” a mount. Tonneau cover closes fully when the tent is folded up, with about 9 inches of space under the mounts.

Setup or break down takes about 1 min!

UPDATE:

Below is the list of parts I used, I did have some of this stuff laying around, and there are probably some cheaper alternatives, especially for the 2080 extrusions, but I thought they gave it a nice look, and they line up and bolted well to the "shelf hangers" I used for the drop down.

With the below really not much modification needed. Really just two or three things:

1. You have to cut the 2080 to length which is a bit tricky as the bed is not square and the side has some flex to it, so to get a tight fit you have to cut just a bit long.

2. Drill out the top holes on the hanger to fit the t tract bolts. You have to bend the shelf hangers, I just placed the short end in a vice and bent the arm, eyeballing it.

3. Optional cut the u bolts to get maximum clearance under the tent.

I think the build is fairly straight forward, t track bolts go in the t tract, rails supports (shelf supports) attach to the t tract bolts. The 2080 then bolts to the shelf supports (holes line up). Place the tent on top, and use the u bolts secure. Just have to get skinny to get underneath to bolt it on. Probably take 2-3 hours. I am sure everyone on here will have even better ideas/improvements. I am interested to see what everyone does with it.

Hey, I just have one question left. Putting my cart together on Amazon (using your referral links) and cant seem to understand the ubolts??? Does it require the narrow and wide ubolts or just one kind? Also, how much could you trim off? I see a few different ones that come in different lengths from other sellers. Maybe something that would prevent me from having to cut them. Thanks

I was trying to put together a list that would cover everything, the narrower bolts go across the frame on bottom of the tent and I used the wider plates from the wider u bolts to go across the mounts. For sure could just cut and drill some flat bar stock to do that part, just simpler to buy. I think the narrower should be about 75mm long to cover without having to cut, but I don’t have an exact measurement

This is really cool. Nice work!

I know you said the cybertent setup is tedious, but it's really not bad at all once you get use to it and the under tent storage is really great. Lots of clearance underneath and very compact for what it is.
I second this comment. Cybertent goes up quickly once you learn how, and I have 16" of clearance under the flat aluminum floor. I can put 6 tubs from Sam's Club under there without interfering with my bed.

I’m curious how many of you that have engineered amazing solutions like this have actually spent some time with the cybertent.
I thought it was super clunky when I saw it the first time but I use a power inflation pump and it is SO easy. Even when it’s raining it’s easy.
I don’t know, I love your tent man, I just want to say to everyone, don’t hate that cybertent too much until you’ve spent some time with it. It’s pretty great.
Hi Thinking of getting the CT. What do you use for heat/air inside the tent?

Great! Thank you!

Can you keep the Cybertent relatively sealed with the hoses and the tent zippers?
