I got a notification this afternoon. I plan to download it before my 4.5 hour trip tomorrow to Dallas.

First drive with latest update- I was hoping it would be better but No- still can’t use FSD in town because the speed limits are still wrong. I will not do 45+ in a 35. This sucks.

If they can’t get this right, at least give me back the ability to adjust maximum speed so I can use FSD.
100% The speed limit issue is a MAJOR problem. There are areas where I can flat out just not use FSD anymore. One stretch that I drive almost daily has a 65mph speed limit. Out of the blue the truck thinks it goes to 35mph with no sign or anything. It starts slowing down and nothing will speed it back up. I have to just turn it off until the next speed limit sign. The only thing better about 14 is the left turn issue. That has been fixed. Everything else pretty much sucks.

More like 5 forward and 8 back
Was hoping this was 14.3 when I saw it, 14.2 is not as good or "sentient" as I had hoped it would be. After 8 years of "fsd almost there so you can take a nap" I keep thinking the next version is going to make it so the truck can go pick my kids up at school.

Glad to see I'm not the only one frustrated by the speed limit problems. It will either go 53 in a 60 on hurry mode or 70 on Mad Max. There's no in-between because it thinks the speed limit is 45. Super frustrating. I sent Tesla dozens of messages, so hopefully, along with this forum, they will pay attention and fix this issue.

Likewise, it pushed to me before it even registered on TeslaFi. Still downloading...
Okay, TeslaFi now sees it and I am #4 with the logged fleet, not bad. I appreciate it and I will put it to a long distance test, tomorrow.

I got it yesterday and don't see a difference from 12.2, especially with speed. It's still more on the conservative side than 14.1.7, which I don't prefer in all conditions.

has anyone actually received 14.2.1 update? I got it on my 3 and Y but nothing yet on the Cybertruck. Teslafi doesn't show any CT getting it. I know at least Chuck got it.
I recieved my download alert today. Its loading now and I will install it as soon as it loads.

I was struggling as well, on the chill dropdown , just choose "HURRY" ... it will blow your mind .. I drove ~ 300 miles yesterday in hurry mode , man it changes lanes right and left , no one could tell in the truck it was not me driving ... in 75 limit, it was on 84 all the time ... I switched to mad max for sometime ... I could not handle it ... it was changing lanes with 1 meter apart distances .... CRAZY !!!

This isnt really worth its own thread so ill post it here:

tonight, while driving to work, FSD kept trying to pull over for a tow truck with its yellow flashing overhead lights on, thinking it was an emergency vehicle. This resulted in 5-6 disengagements. Hopefully this is a bug that gets caught quickly, but i remember it took FSD a LONG time to differentiate between flashing yellow traffic lights and flashing red… i think yellow and red are too close on the spectrum of colors for the camera to differentiate.

IMPRESSED!!! Just put Blitzen through a genuinely serious road-construction gauntlet — the kind of chaotic mess where cars were spilling out of a burger joint, trying to turn onto an adjacent road, then giving up and stopping in the main lane with flashers on, completely blocking traffic.

Blitzen didn’t flinch. She paused, assessed, clicked on her blinker, eased into the left-turn lane (without actually turning left), and calmly navigated around the whole cluster. The cars behind me followed her lead. Order restored. Life was good.

I have to admit… my driving days might really be winding down. And at my age, that’s not all bad. Instead of running errands, I now take cruises — listening to Christmas hits and sipping hot coffee with just a hint of… ahem… eggnog!

Thanks Tesla...you are about to make this Santa's best Christmas ever!!!

I just went through the sequence with v14.2.1 and the breakdown was like this:

Sloth = spot on speed limit

Chill = about 3 miles over

Standard = solid 5 miles over

Hurry = around 8 miles over

Mad Max = no clue, with a tag that reads "Santa RT" we are NOT going there, until Christmas Eve...that night, we will rename it "Santa Express"

I can work with all of this and prefer it over the the earlier versions.

I take it back. Fantastic drive and I texted without a warning on the highway.

For me it seemed like it was:
Standard: Max 5mph over

Hurry: Max 10mph over, but thinks it's doing 20 over the way it leaves a wide open lane to sit in the left lane while people are trying to use it for what it is- a PASSING LANE ONLY

Mad Max: could never tell because it just wanted to keep changing lanes, but finally got to 20mph over (keeping with the flow of traffic) because it randomly thought a section of freeway was 45mph for reasons unknown. I also got to a section that was clearly labelled 65mph and it thought it was 100! Luckily it kept with the flow of traffic there...

I would love if Standard could just stick to the flow of traffic in the lane I give it, change lanes to pass only when someone is going way slow, and go back to where it was. Highways on the old version were much better- it would go a decent speed, and i could adjust up to where I wanted it. It's dangerously stubborn now, it'll slam on the brakes to go back to its 5mph over no matter what anyone else on the road is doing.
