I recently hauled 3/4 yard of crushed gravel in the bed. I had a tarp down to keep the worst of it from getting into the moat around the smuglers bay. It worked, sort of. But a week later I'm still getting gravel falling out from under the tailgate hinge.

So I am planning on setting up something better. Starting with an extra heavy duty tarp (10' x 12'). I'll post pictures once I get something that works. My idea is to orient it with the 12' length fore/aft. Then use bungies or hooks at the forwardmost end of the L-track to hold up the front end. Possibly tennis balls on short cords on sides to hold tarp ends over the top of the side walls, while product is dumped in. Not sure If I'd need to something similar at the aft end. Once product is loaded, I just fold every thing over it and close the tonneau cover.

Has anybody already done something similar? Any ideas would be appreciated.

how do you clean the textile mat? Vacuum?
Advantages over TPE?
Yeah. Vacuum or shake off. No genuine advantages technically but feel-wise makes the vault more like the back of a huge model x with the seats laid down. Sort of more like an interior. Maybe a little softer for more delicate items. Also doesn’t expose the “slats”as much.
It does hold on to debris more and can’t be pressure washed as easily.
I have and enjoy both and also the t-mat. All good for different jobs. I have an inflatable mattress liner too.

Yeah I just pull it out and shake it off. It’s woven plastic and can be washed if necessary. This woven material is better at keeping stuff in place vs the tpe mat I had before it.

I’d personally put my TPE mat down as an underlayer and then a tarp with eyeholes for poles on the edges. You can secure those to the outside of the bed with strong magnet mounts or even attach them to the l-tracks if your pile is going to be shallow and you’d like to close the tonneau.

I really love using the WM Bagster. I think I've done about 5-6 yards of gravel or sand, it's only slightly tearing because I never bought a flat shovel and got sloppy.

This + a yoga mat on the back glass with the tonneau rolled up just enough to cover the back window is how I typically go now.

As far as bed liner, I bought the cheapie one off amazon and it still works as intended- slight cushion for gravel falling in, easy to take out, pressure wash & dry, peace of mind that if I ever get something too nasty in I can just replace it, and has good grip so things don't slide around.

Brilliant! I'd actually be considering sewing the corners at the front end on the tarp aproach. This does that for me. And the 8' x 4' dimensions allow ample room in the bed.

Is anyone familiar with a bed liner product called Bed Rug? (If I recall correctly, the company that sells them is called Realtruck.) They make bed liners custom fit to specific truck models and sizes/trims. The sides zip together to form a box the very shape of your bed box. They are super tough, easy to clean, and very comfortable (easy on the knees). I’ve had them in my previous pickups.

When I received my Cybertruck in June 2024, Realtruck unfortunately had no Bed Rug available for it. They did, however, sell the material they make them from, so I ordered a piece large enough to make my own. A sharp knife, a straight edge, and about an hour in time, and I had one laying in the vault. I love it. Super tough. Light weight. Looks good. Items dragged or slid on it do not cause it to bunch up. It's thick enough that I've completely forgotten there are channels underneath. Using heavy duty dble-sided tape, I attached a piece to the tail gate, too (and this has held up fine).

I took these pictures for my post about the new Cap (from Spacecampers) so it’s a bit hard to see much detail with the bed liner, but I think you can get an idea of how it looks.

As a follow-up to my previous post, The "Bagster" works great for when I haul nasty materials, like Gravel. I attached weights on strings in a few places. and I cut a slender rod to hold the forward upper corners in place. Here's few pictures of the setup, when I had a wholesler dump 1/2 yard of crushed gravel into the truck.
