The scroll wheel needs to adjust the speed since the choices are not fine enough for all situations on the road. Leave the side selection to choose which mode you want but have the scroll wheel select miles per hour each indent is 1 mi an hour and a quick flip up is five. Otherwise the speeds that are programmed in are not acceptable on highways. Long Island is 55 mph and on standard mode, the truck is doing 66 mph. I don't want to do 66 when traffic is moving 60. That is a target on my truck for the police. Switching from standard to chill mode the truck rapidly slows down to 56 or 57 mph. That is not acceptable and it is really dangerous. They need to fix it.
Agree with side-to-side for mode selection and scrolling up/down for speed adjust. That would be outstanding!

I agree... why can't we have both ... use the right wheel toggle to change mode and use the wheel to trim the speed regardless of mode.

Strange that "Full Self Driving" feature set should have more human input. I think you guys bought into a stage of the product development but not its intended future. What happens when there is no steering wheel or pedals?
That’s not happening any time even remotely soon. For now, we need input. We can’t even look down at the screen to find music without it squawking for our attention, yet it won’t even let us choose our own speed? Stupid.

waymo, Tesla and zoox are all operating today in major cities with no one behind the steering wheel. Your perspective of “this isn’t happening remotely soon” is myopic. Zoox already is operating with no steering wheel….

Ok, we’ll see. Zoox and waymo and robotaxi are all geofenced in strict areas and predesignated routes. Feel free to screenshot this and prove me wrong as soon as we have cars sold to consumers able to drive anywhere without steering wheels or pedals. Despite the great advances we are seeing, it’s a HUGE step to go without any human override capability. We are years away. But I’ll be waiting to be proven wrong….
