Good question. As far as I know, Tesla has not addressed it. So we may not get an answer until February 14. Some possible options:

(1) No change -- if you buy a vehicle with the Luxe Package, you get to own FSD, everybody else pays for a monthly subscription. Price of Luxe Package stays the same.

(2) Luxe Package no longer includes FSD purchase. If you want FSD, you have to pay monthly, like everybody else. Price of Luxe Package drops accordingly.

(3) Luxe Package no longer includes FSD purchase -- but it does include several years of prepaid FSD subscription fees. Price of Luxe Package stays the same. So you don't actually "own" FSD, you are technically a "subscriber" -- but you are free of those annoying monthly subscription fees for a nice long time. Not forever, though.

I ordered a Model S Plaid on 2/8/26
My Sales Advisor told me he has official word from Tesla that the FSD in Luxe package will change to a free subscription 2/14/26 and that it will terminate and not be transferable to the next buyer. (Like Premium Connectivity)
He wasn’t sure what time of day on 2/14 and didn’t mention any change in price…
This motivated me to order before 2/14

I was supplied with The Luxe package agreement in my Tesla app along with the other purchase agreement documents.
And this is the text that I copied and pasted from the actual agreement.

Here is the very specific clause on transferability. (Very Clear)

Transferability. The Package, including its individual features and services, cannot be transferred to another vehicle. If you sell or otherwise transfer the ownership of your Model S or Model X, the Full Self- Driving (Supervised) and the remainder of the Recommended Maintenance, Wheel and Tire Protection Plan, and Windshield Protection Plan will transfer automatically to the buyer.

The Free Supercharging and Premium Connectivity will not transfer with the vehicle and will terminate once the ownership of the Model S or Model X is transferred.

So it’ll essentially be the same ownership experience for the original buyer (as in no monthly payments for software)? It just might resell for a bit less because a potential second buyer will have to subscribe to FSD?

And pay for SuperCharging, but correct.

I was told that none of the Luxe package would transfer to a new buyer as it flagged to the vehicle in your account.

I assume you could sell your account, but that's messy.

Yes, it would sell for a bit less, but it would also lose the FSD if you wanted to just transfer it to a family member. Could avoid the by, leaving it in your account. And only doing the transfer in terms of registration with the Department of motor vehicles, etc… and of course, applies to free supercharging.
But often that’s not an option, especially if you’re giving it to a child who is in a different state that provides Tesla insurance that they may want to use, which could save them hundreds of dollars a month. I know this because we’ve done this with one vehicle.

Prediction: Luxe purchases after 2/14/2026–Tesla owns FSD. Vehicle owner has FSD as $0 subscription. Once you sell a Luxe-equipped vehicle that is it for FSD. No transfer possible

So it's now February 15, and the Luxe Package Terms and Conditions have officially been changed as per the discussion above:
Transferability. The Package, including its individual features and services, cannot be transferred to another vehicle. If you sell or otherwise transfer the ownership of your Model S, Model X, or Cybertruck (trim eligibility subject to change), the remainder of the Recommended Maintenance, Wheel and Tire Protection Plan, and Windshield Protection Plan will transfer automatically to the buyer. The Full Self-Driving (Supervised), Free Supercharging and Premium Connectivity will not transfer with the vehicle and will terminate once the ownership of the Model S, Model X, or Cybertruck (trim eligibility subject to change) is transferred.
So yes, free FSD (Supervised) remains in the Luxe Package, but only for the original owner. Looks like that is the only change. The Free Supercharging and Premium Connectivity don't transfer either, but that was in the previous T&Cs.

I think the language about "Cybertruck (trim eligibility subject to change)" is new. Right now there are only two CT trims, and only one of them (Cyberbeast) is eligible for the Luxe Package. So if this is "subject to change", then it suggests that Tesla could maybe offer the Luxe Package with the AWD in the future.

Might entice me to get another AWD if it does

I could be wrong, but nothing I’ve seen in any of the Tesla posts say that FSD can’t be apart of a package. It just won’t be purchaseable as a standalone product. So it could still be in the luxe package or part of a new car deal or any other type of deal.

The Luxe Package is enticing, but the cost of an AWD would go up, probably by $10,000 or $15,000, if it was included

Right now the only way to get a non-subscription version of FSD that would be transferable to the next buyer is to either have placed an order by yesterday or transfer from an existing vehicle that you own that qualifies for transfer. However, this will only be an option until the end of March then that will no longer be an option.

It's true that FSD Transfer is scheduled to end on March 31, 2026. However, Tesla has previously offered FSD transfer five times, starting with the original "one-time offer of amnesty" in 3Q 2023. No one should be shocked if a sixth phase of FSD Transfer is announced later this year.
