Admin Update:

Tesla has rolled out a new feature for Cybertrucks called “Active Road Noise Reduction” (AKA Active Noise Cancelling (ANC)) in software update 2026.2.6.1.

Only the Premium, and Cyberbeast trims include Active Noise Canceling.

“Your vehicle now has the ability to actively reduce low-frequency road noise while driving on rough surfaces. To accomplish this, the system uses the seat microphones to measure the noise in the cabin, then generates anti-noise through the speakers to create quiet zones around occupants.”

Here are the Cybertruck's noise-cancelling microphones ("Cyber Scallops") located in the seat headrest:

2 years after release ANC coming out gives me two emotions.

1. Frustration, why not earlier

2. Hope, maybe more fixes like charging curve are coming "soon"

Has anyone experienced it? If so, how is it?

TLDR:
Cybertruck ANC (Active Road Noise Reduction) is rolling out now via 2026.2.6.1 / 2026.2.9 updates—hardware’s been there since day one on Premium AWD & Cyberbeast (not base Dual Motor). Tesla enables it server-side/phased, so even on 2026.2.9, the Audio toggle might not show yet (try reboot, drive, or wait a few days). Many owners reporting surprise quiet cabins after car washes/updates. Check Controls > Audio; if no toggle in a week, ping Tesla support. Stealth quiet upgrade incoming!

longer version:

Per grok I know I try not to use ai for everything but situations like this it’s very helpful and more efficient

Quick summary of the latest on Active Road Noise Reduction (aka ANC / Active Noise Cancellation) for Cybertruck, based on recent reports, Not a Tesla App, and owner experiences as of March 5, 2026:

• All delivered Cybertrucks (Foundation Series, Premium AWD, Cyberbeast) shipped with the necessary hardware (seat mics + speakers) for ANC, but it was disabled in software until now.
• Tesla started enabling it via software update 2026.2.6.1 (rolled out late last week / early this week in March 2026). It adds a toggle in Controls > Audio called “Active Road Noise Reduction.”
• Feature description from release notes: “Your vehicle now has the ability to actively reduce low-frequency road noise while driving on rough surfaces. To accomplish this, the system uses the seat microphones to measure the noise in the cabin, then generates anti-noise through the speakers to create quiet zones around occupants.”

• It’s officially listed as standard on Premium AWD and Cyberbeast trims (not the new base Dual Motor AWD, which has a reduced speaker setup).
• Some owners are seeing it appear as a surprise after updating (e.g., one noticed it after a car wash because the cabin felt unusually quiet, then checked notes).

• It’s a phased/server-side rollout—Tesla enables it progressively (not instant for everyone on the same version). Even if you’re on 2026.2.9 (which includes the feature in its notes, tucked under the 2026.2.6.1 section), the toggle might not show up yet due to backend flags.
• Why you might not see it on 2026.2.9:

• Still propagating (very recent—many reports from the last 1-2 days).

• Try: Soft reboot (hold both scroll wheels), force update check via app/Wi-Fi, or drive a bit (some say it “activates” after road noise exposure).

• If eligible (Premium AWD/Cyberbeast) and no toggle in a week, might need Tesla support to check your vehicle’s server flag.

My Tesla App just notifies me to update my software to 2025.45.9.1. I guess mine still needs another hop to 2026.2..6.1.

I just checked and I do have the 2026.2.9 update. I was driving yesterday and when I was on my street which normally produces a significant rumble, it seemed noticeably quieter, so I guess this really does work.
