Unless the seat covers were 100% transparent from an audio perspective, and no seat covers are, they would reduce the effectiveness of the noise cancellation feature.

The degree that seat covers would impact noise cancellation will depend upon how transparent they are to sound.

I'm not familiar with Tesla's ANC implementation, but noise-cancellation has been around for years and is well understood. I've used devices from multiple vendors without issue.

Funny story: I use Apple Airpods with ANC for music. They have a feature that automatically lowers the volume and disables ANC if they detect speech, so that you can converse without needing to remove them...

... and I never realized how often I speak out loud to absolutely no one

2 years after release ANC coming out gives me two emotions.

1. Frustration, why not earlier

2. Hope, maybe more fixes like charging curve are coming "soon"

9 years after I first drove my 2017 MS …. I’m still getting promised and improved features.

It’s the real world. But thankful, it’s still improving over time. My Toyota or GM never did that.
